  1. Looking for more info on this rehoused 14mm f2.8L. Just got a great deal on ebay. There was little info on the post and the guy didn't get back to me. From the photos I thought it was PL, but it's wider and the seat is deeper. Any ideas on the source of the rehouse or the mount?
  2. Hello Community! I‘m searching for a Canon 8-64mm T2.4 S16 zoom lens. If someone want to sell one please write me! Greetings - Rick
  3. Hi, everyone! Gonna be shooting a film with a look rooted in Jazz photography from the likes of William Claxton, Dennis Stock and others known for the marvelous images they created around that beautiful genre. Obviously, the film's aesthetic's going to borrow a hell of a lot from these great photographers... However, what I'm most interested in is the B&W film stocks that were around the time in which the most iconic artists were photographed: the 1950s. So, on the one hand, what I'm wondering is if there's anyone in the room with an idea about the the rolls of B&W film available at that time and their characteristics. But on the other hand, I'd like to know if anyone knows where can I find information on the way these photograpers worked, which is to say the lenses and equipment they used, the way they developed their film and created they final shot in the darkroom, etc. Also welcome is information on the film stocks used to shoot movies or documentaries around the 50s. My guess is even at that time Double-X was the real deal, but... You know. A guess is a guess.

  11. Hi everyone, I am trying to find out what lenses were used in the shooting of Terrence Malick's Badlands, but there seems to be no info available on this topic. I just know that three cameras were used during the production: Mitchell Bncr, Cameflex, and Arriflex. Badlands was shot in 1972, does anyone know what lenses were common for any of this cameras around that time, specially for the Mitchell? Thanks!
  12. I have an 8mm Illumina (Optar) lens for sale. It's in B mount for super 16mm sensor/film. I bought this lens to begin a set with but then found a complete set for sale, so this one is no longer needed. I'm asking £1620 + shipping for it. It is a rare lens and in excellent condition. I can provide more pictures if needed. Shipping will be charged at the cost, insured and signed for. I'm also happy to meet the buyer and exchange. I'm based in Hampshire UK, often working in London if that suits the buyer to meet there. 14. Hi there! I built two sets of Leica R's for a feature and now am looking to let go one of them, if there is demand right now. The set consists of: Leica R 19mm 2.8 V1 Leica R 21mm 4.0 Leica R 24mm 2.8 V1 Leica R 28mm 2.8 V1 Leica R 35mm 1.4 Summilux Leica R 50mm 1.4 Summilux Leica R 80mm 1.4 Summilux (optional) Leica R 90mm 2.0 (my second set consists of a lot more focal lengths, if you are looking to add more lenses) They are all from the same time period and match very well. All have been serviced, declicked, focus gears, 80mm universal fronts (apart from the 19), and original Leica UV Filters (apart from the 19). Very good condition & they did a beautiful job on the full frame sensor. Located in Vienna, Austria - can be shipped worldwide Hit me up for more infos, pictures & price suggestions - I will update this post later on Thanks! Best, Patrick

  18. Cooke Speed Panchro Set Includes: 18/25/32/40/50/75/100mm P&S Price : $44,000.00 USD
  19. 32mm Cooke Speed Panchro (T2.3) For Sale. Arri Standard Mount. Serial Number starts with a 5. I also have a 75mm CSP that I'm selling, listed here separately. I'm asking USD $2,200 for this lens. Preference will be given if there's a buyer who wants to buy both lenses together. I popped it on my Panasonic S1H and unsurprisingly, it doesn't cover Full Frame (see portholing picture in the photo album). This is a Super 35 lens, although there's a bit of darkening at the edges noticeable on these S35 4:3 aspect ratio shots, but it's *barely* noticeable in 16:9, especially if you're not shooting white walls, and certainly not noticeable in anything wider like 2:1 or 2.35:1. Typical of Cooke Speed Panchros of this vintage, it has some light coating scratches in the front and rear elements, (including one deeper scratch near the edge of the front element, see pictures) but nothing that would affect the image. Duclos told me there's some haze and contamination (see picture) in the optics, and some oil on the iris blades as well. It could use a service, or rehousing somewhere like P+S or TLS. I've included a few shots (of the camera operator figurine from a low angle), shot at T2.3 (Wide Open), T2.8, T4, and T5.6. If you're close enough in Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens, I can deliver by Uber. Or I can ship. Uploaded file size limits here are pretty small, so I'm going to see if linking to a photo album works: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmPk26hi
  20. what lens is that ??
  21. Arri UP 12mm in Good Condition Price: $9,000 omar@raw-entertainment.com
  22. I'm writing an essay and comparing optical artefacts between different lenses in different price ranges. Being able to compare these requires me to determine what a desirable result is and what an undesirable result is. Logically an artefact is a defect so it should be undesirable, but as well all know lens flares are a commonly used artefact in movies. Is there a way to determine what a good "lens flare" is?
  23. I very much love my CP-16. I found at an incredibly low price a Arri B/standard to CP mount adapter - it's the unit that Visual Products sold a while back. So, where have all the Arri B/Standard mount lenses gone? I'm looking to build a prime kit. I would like to find a normal or wide to start with, 25mm or 18mm or so. For that matter, where are all of the CP primes? I'm totally open to using Russian glass as well, provided I don't need to completely rehouse the lenses. For those that might be tempted: No, I would rather not sell my cp-16 and buy (insert name of "better" camera here). For that matter, I don't wish to purchase a new set of whatever for $60,000... I also refuse to pay $5000 for a single 50 year old prime. If it comes to that I'll just buy a new one. Not trying to be hateful, just where my thoughts are currently. Edit: I may not be totally opposed to changing the camera to PL mount, if that's the way things just... "are".
