    Hi, I'm wondering, what type of shoulder rig do you use with your Sony a7 (or a something).. I'm always wondering if I would be better just shooting handheld, since it figure out a nice setup with my sony a7, for a shoulder rig. Thanks !

    Hey there, this is my very first contribution to the forum - forgive and correct me if I am doing something wrong. Two weeks ago I had the chance to take a Sony Venice out and shoot a part of a short film on it. Sony kindly let me and my team test it out. Now we are rendering proxies for our film editor, and weird stuff happened. On some of the 6k X-OCN St footage that I processed through Davinci Resolve 14, colors went really odd. I mean, really odd. Skin is grey and blue, purple is green, yellow is purple-green-blue-noise. I attach a file to give you an impression of how the picture should look (lelft) and how it does after transcoding (right). It does look fine before the transcode. Rendered proxies are 2k DNxHR SQ files. Solution was to turn off "Force Debayer to highest quality". But this only worked for the CameraRAW Decode Quality set to "Full Res - Sony" instead of "Full Res - Resolve". First: Why are there two choices (Resolve + Sony Debayer)? I read something about that on one of the very first Venice talks on CML, but it still is an issue. Second: Why does this happen? It may be a new thing considering Venice hasn't been around for that long. Third: Why does "Force Debayer to highest quality" have an effect at all when debayering already happens with Sony's algorithm in Full Res? Maybe Resolve 15 handles it better - but I can't upgrade due to a job right now. Upgrade will happen next month.     Hi, I had an opportunity to shoot a body builder for a short documentary/story. This was a guerilla and i was just packing 2 - 1x1 leds. I wanted to underexpose the shots to get that cut light to shape the muscles. The shots picked up a lot of grain in shadows losing detail This was shot with cine4 gamma black gamma range wide level +4 black level +2 color mode pro shot at 200-400 iso with canon 16-35 and 24-70mm on HFR mode.     Hello, I have a short film approaching and some of these shots are in a very tight space, allowing only me as an operator to be close to the action and the actors, forbidding the use of a 1st AC. Due to budget and time reasons we are using my FS7m2 with the 18-110mm G OSS F4 Sony lens. As I discovered, my 1st AC can remotely control the camera thru the Sony wifi dongle that comes with the camera and a smartphone. I have successfully manage to connect the camera with my iPhone and to my surprise all the controls work flawlessly and with no lag. Except the focus control slider that is very very slow and not usable. Does anyone ever used the wifi controls with an Fs7? Do you also have problems with the focus? I am very disappointed as this would have make quite a difference in these tight shots. Thank you, Hector Papageorgiou

    Hi all, I'm going to be shooting a short film in the very near future on the Sony FS5. The Camera only comes with a kit lens, so I was wondering whether it was worth sourcing another lens to work with. I know friend's have pretty pricey Canon lenses, but I'm unsure whether these would be better or worse. The film is going to be shot mostly outside on location, shots of buildings and streets etc. If anyone has ideas, let me know. Thanks.

    Is it mostly based of preference? The one's I know by name are Canon, Sony, Zeiss, Cooke's, Leica's, Sigma's, Panavision, Arri and Rokinon. I like the Zeiss super speeds because the smoothness of the gears whenever on I'm on a follow-focus rig. Also the sigma's quality I really love. Rokinon's are pretty decent for their price when you need to get something like a knock-off zeiss, I've heard people say. I own two Roks, really are impressed with them. So all in all, does it comes down to preference/price? or are there more factors?

This works with most Sony F series cameras (FS700, FS-7, FS-5, F-5, F-55, F-3) and Canon C series cameras (C100, C200, C300, C500). The mount is in great shape with only a few minor scuffs to the anodization. Works great, but I don't have access to an FS-7 camera anymore. :( This is being sold as a complete set, so don't ask me to part is out. PM me for details.
