    I have three Zeiss ZF.2 lenses for sale and two adapters. Each one has a custom lens gear and screw on front diameter adapter (35-50 = 77mm front, 21=95mm front). The lenses can be delivered with indexed aperture or de-clicked. Your choice. The lenses have seen very light use and are in like new condition. The two adapters take the Nikon mount ZF.2 lens and convert them to either Canon or Sony camera mounts.     According to the article "The Steadicam and "The Shining" (American Cinematographer - August 1980) Garett Brows says : "To annoy him we would indicate the forest of TV antennas aimed at the studio from suburban Borehamwood and imply that the TV signal was escaping the sound stage and being watched by a gaggle of “Monty Python” women every morning: “Ooooh, poor Mr Brown!… That take seemed perfectly good to me!” Somewhat later, our imitation ladies got even more sophisticated: “Ooh, must be the 24mm Distagon!, see how it’s vignetting in the viewfinder!” I was thinkking if that "24mm Distagon" is a Zeiss Standard Speed 2.1 (in The Shining kubrick used Super Speeds 1.4) OR the Canon 24mm ASPHERICAL 1.4 he used in Barry Lyndon ... As i know .. 24mm Zeiss distagon doesn't vignetting !!! but a Still converted to Cine lens ??? -Probably Brows called "distagon" the canon not becouse it's is "official" name but becouse of his curvness -Also the 1.4 speed of Canon would be a great advance in this low ASA 80's What do you think ??     For sale are a set of Zeiss Super Speeds Super 16 consisting of: Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 9.5mm MKII (does cover Super 16) PL mount (metric and imperial) Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 12mm MKI PL mount (metric and imperial, has additional markings by focus puller on camera tape.) Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 16mm MKII PL mount (metric and imperial) Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 25mm MKIII PL mount (metric) All four Super Speeds have just been checked, lens projected and approved by the lens master at Take 2 Films London. I've shot Super 16 mm film test footage and the glass mixes wonderfully. The 25mm especially produces a lovely cinematic bokeh. This is a great set of affordable classic cine prime lenses, ideal for Super 16mm film cameras and RED owners. Or for shooting high speed with a cropped sensor. Also for Panasonic GH3, GH4, GH5, BMPCC, BMCC. The optics are in perfect condition, no scratches, no fungus. The mechanics work very well. Cosmetically the lenses are very good for their age. The 25mm's front ring has a mark, probably caused by a clamp-on matte box. Please check the photos. All lenses come with PL mount and front and back lens covers. Had the negatives scanned, graded, and 2k footage stored in a hard drive. The drive crashed. Data recovery guys were asking a lot of money. I got it scanned again now. I shot this with a focus puller and a driver one early morning on Kodak 200T.

    so my issue is my Zeiss 8mm lens isn't focusing at all. Not clear, not sharp-- moving the focus ring does nothing at all. The focus ring moves smoothly and stops at both ends but nothing changes. Unfortunate since I was hoping to use it for a big project this week. Details: Lens: Zeiss 8mm with Arri standard mount Camera: Eclair NPR adapter: Calkovsky arri to c mount adapter The shop where I bought the lens is convinced it's the adapter, and while I still have a lot to learn about these things, it still seems like moving the focus ring should do something. Is this incorrect? At this point I'd be encouraged if adjusting the focus made it worse, just so I'd know something is happening. Calkovsky has been working with me trying to figure this out but we haven't got it figured out yet. He mentioned it's possible I might need a tiny tab to lock it in position. I have been able to at least get a clear image in the viewfinder if I hold the lens myself up to the camera maybe within a few millimeters of the mirror but that image does not change if the focus is set to infinity or to 12 inches. No changes at all. Any thoughts?

    Hello, I am looking at buying a 16SR3 within the next two months and have read all the ARRI downloadable manuals and am stuck on which lens would be best for shooting with relatively low light conditions and still have a sharp image and some flare. What has confused me was that I was always interested in the T1.3 Zeiss Super Speeds, but i have been told that these wont work on this camera. But I thought the T1.4 was for 35mm and T1.3 was 16mm. What about the Zeiss CP2 T1.5 super speeds. One last thing is the Zeiss Ultra 16 lenses, I know they work best with the super 16 416 models, but can they also be used with a 16sr3 if converted to super 16. Thank You!!

    Sequenceshots The great Orson Welles used to say :”A long-playing full shot is what always separates the men from the boys. Anybody can make movies with a pair of scissors and a two-inch lens.” And as usual, the master was totally right. Thanks to movies such as “Children of men”, “Gravity” or “Birdman” (and a lot more) the sequence shots are once again very popular and with the help of digital cinema that removed several limitations we previously had (such for instance the time limitation of 10 minutes due to the size of 35mm film magazines), this kind of shot has become RELATIVELY easier (or at least possible even for small and medium-sized productions). The capital letters are on purpose, since shooting a one-shot sequence is still an extremely complicated thing to do, the longer the harder... More info here.
