It's understandable. No point keeping a line ready all the time if it's very lightly used. Some of the chemicals must be getting scarce as well. The quickest turnaround you can get in London now (stills) is 2-3 days. No more overnights. Our local Snappy Snaps in Kentish Town offers same day developing. Unfortunately the quality is horrendous.

Presumably they're keeping the chemicals for far too long. The only alternative would be single-shot developing in a small tank which would take a couple of hours and cost more than they could charge.
Jenny List Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Hi everyone. I'm Jenny List, I designed this cartridge. Great to see the discussion. First of all, I'd like to say that a genuine Fuji cartridge is the real thing, of course it's going to be better. By all means if you have one, use it. This cartridge is the best I could do, and represents the result of many iterations. It's an experimental prototype, it works for me and others, but there are bound to be limitations. The grey one in one of the videos posted above is a much earlier iteration, printed in whatever filament was int he printer as a fitting test, in no way ready to take film. So my second point. Watch the most recent of the video series, and reserve your comments until then. It doesn't have the ISO lugs on the front. Mainly because I don't have a camera that supports them and thus can't test them. They're a simple addition to the print. I have also only tested it with Fuji cameras, because that's what I have. As to light leaks, in use with a resin printed cartridge in black resin and spray painted with matt black paint, this has not been a problem when I have used it. Your cartridge may vary, if you are worried, load the camera in a bag or in the darkroom. You can print one with a home FDM printer, and it will work. There is a risk that it may scratch the film though, that's all. So there you go. I have a roll of Wittner Orwo stock in the fridge and in time I'll load a bunch more cartridges at some point and go forth with my camera. I'm not a filmmaker, instead I enjoy making '70s home movie style records of events such as hacker camps. If any of you have used these cartridges, what have your experiences been? Feedback from users is like gold dust. 1
Jenny List Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 As an added bonus for a howler of an on-screen error, one of the cartridges in one of the YouTube videos is loaded upside down, with the sprocket holes at the top. You know how it is when you only spot something after the thing has gone live... 1 1
