Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted August 16, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted August 16, 2015 Just had to order Lee 1/8 CT orange from Germany. I assume Panalux and so on have some, but that's for big American movies. For (*£$'s sake. It's made here. P
Freya Black
They seem to have it at stage electronics: http://www.stage-electrics.co.uk/shop/sales/lighting/colour-filter-and-gel/sheets---lee-led-colour/product.aspx?code=499-8606 Also wondered a mild straw gel would work or if it has to be CTO? Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted August 16, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted August 16, 2015 Thomann are actually cheaper, including shipping from Burgebrach. Seriously. And Stage Electrics don't actually have any. It's on preorder. Thomann don't have heat shield, though. Which brings us down to the real question, which is: why is there a shop.leefiltersusa.com, but not a shop.leefilters.com for the UK? Brian Drysdale
I've had one off items made by Panavision in their machine shop, so it's worth contacting Panalux for single rolls of lighting gel.
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted August 16, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted August 16, 2015 I assume that you were part of some enormous production at the time, though. I can't imagine they'd give me the time of day. P
Brian Drysdale
No, I just rang them up and asked if they'd make it for me,
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted August 16, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted August 16, 2015 Crikey. I assume you had to drive a transit van full of gold bullion down there in recompense for this largesse.
Brian Drysdale
LOL No, they also sell T shirts.
Stuart Brereton
I always used to buy rolls and part rolls from Lee Lighting, before they were Panalux. They had them on the shelf.
Mark Dunn
Presumably you tried these who claim to stock it. http://www.directphotographic.co.uk/consumables/lightinggels.asp#correction
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted August 17, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted August 17, 2015 I didn't. I did try a few places with "photographic" in the title, but it's quite difficult to google searches to differentiate between places that sell the Lee camera filters, and people who sell their lighting range. But for pity's sake, this shouldn't be difficult. One of the places on Lee's own "find a dealer" map is out of business, or at least their website is a 403. Mark Dunn
I got that one off their map. I used to get the odd sheet of 80A and ND off SRB but those days seem to be over. Edited August 17, 2015 by Mark Dunn
