  1. The complete nikon r10 manual, including page 15 and 32, can be downloaded from my webpage: http://www.super8.no/Manuals2/Nikon_R10_Us...ual_English.pdf Now, if only my nikon wouldn't do a strange form of double exposure as a "default", my test film would make a lot more sense. Oh, well, at least i discovered it before I filmed something important :-)
  2. Wow, that looks great! When I get a hold of a little more money, I'll be your customer! Btw, since I live in Norway, postage from other countries does highten the costs, so I would, and I'm sure some other people would too, be interested in buy a "complete" package from you that also included filters, just to save the postage/trouble/time/andsoon buying stuff from two places.
  3. Ok, I tried to put together links to as many available super 8 film stock examples as possible. As mentioned above, Charles Doran's great site has a lot of great examples: http://www.westsiderfilm.com/clips.html http://www.westsiderfilm.com/clips2.html http://www.westsiderfilm.com/S8_Today_Satu...n_article_5.pdf Overview over Kodak's available stocks: http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/s8mm/pro....14.4&lc=en Astbury Films have some great stock examples: http://web.mac.com/jakeastro/iWeb/WSCFILM/...R8%20DEMOS.html Black and white stocks sold by Kahl: http://www.kahlfilm.de/kahlfilm/deutsch/sh..._and_white.html Color stock sold by Kahl: http://www.kahlfilm.de/kahlfilm/deutsch/sh...ezp_colour.html Wittner Kinotechnik: http://www.wittner-kinotechnik.de/katalog/...mm/s8_filmm.php Super8camera.com has a nice list of available stocks: http://www.super8camera.com/filmstock.php Should we add the Cinevia stock? :-) http://www.cinevia.eu/ Pro8mm's reversal films: http://pro8mm.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Sc...tegory_Code=CCF Pro8mm's negative films: http://pro8mm.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Sc...ategory_Code=PF Spectra Film & Video: http://www.spectrafilmandvideo.com/Film.html Hm, please add more to the list, if you have some! Bjarne Eldhuset.
  4. Someone sendt me this manual, and I have uploaded it to my website. You can download it from http://www.super8.no/manuals.html Bjarne Eldhuset
  5. Haha, ok, I'll have to admit I ate the slice of bread to be able to walk a bit steadier with this setup: But as it's a prime lens with an anamorphic adapter, at least there was no zooming. Looking forward to having it transfered.
  6. I just realised how lucky I was just a few days ago, I both shot a cart of 200t AND ate a slice of bread! :-)
  7. Hi, one of my website visitors e-mailed me the 1014 AutoZoom Electronic manual. I have just uploaded it to the manuals section of my website www.super8.no/manuals.html
  8. The reason you get different results if you add super-8 to the search, is because some sites may be about super 8 without actually including this phrase. Here is how the search goes: To the google search setup, I have added a long list of websites that I know are about super 8. The google search engine will only search through these pages, and pages they link to. Let's say you have a website about the Beaulieu 4008, but the phrase super 8 is not used on this website. So if you search for "Beaulieu 4008"and super-8, this page will not come up, because you have asked for a page that includes both phrases. The whole purpose of this search engine is actually that you do not have to narrow each search by using "super 8" and so on, beacuse the search engine will only search through sites that are included on my growing list of super 8 related webpages. There are already a couple of thousand pages, and I will add more pages every week. Regards, Bjarne Eldhuset
  9. Hi, just want you to try out the spanking new Super 8 Search Engine. http://www.super8.no/super8search.html It's supposed to only give search results that are super 8 and small gauge related - hopefully bye-bye "Super 8 motels" :-) After getting irritated trying to find super 8 stuff on google, I decided to set up a custom made google site which only (almost) gives super 8 related search results. I have added loads of pages to the database, and will add more in the future, but I would like to have you guys test it. Please tell me if there are certain search phrases that give much "garbage", and I'll try to find out the reason, and fix it. Also, fill free to link to the page: http://www.super8.no/super8search.html (The layout ain't much, but I'll have someone else improve it. Someday:-) Regards, Bjarne Eldhuset.
  10. I haven't actually spoken with him yet, but I guess with service and shipping to and from Norway it will at add up to somewhere between 150-300 euro. Try contacting him at http://www.video-technik-schacherl.de/ and ask for a quote. He's told to be one of the best nizo and bauer repairman.
  11. I wouldn't trust that a "new" camera you buy is in perfect condition either. The squeeky, choking sound is a common problem to the nizo sound models, and it probably comes from loose/old/squeeky/notsogood rubber belts inside the camera. This might also be the problem with the next sound nizo you buy, unless you have the sellers garanty that it doesn't make these sounds. I'm going to send one of my nizos for repair to german repairman Kurt Sacherl. That will cost a bit, probably more than buying another camera, but at least I will have a working, newly serviced nizo rather than two squeeky ones. My website is not the merzbarn one, but this: The Free Smallfilm Manuals list - http://www.super8.no/manuals.html - Free 8 mm and 16 mm camera and equipment manuals.
  12. http://www.merzbarn.com/Specification_char...ation_chart.htm Yep!
  13. Thanks for the link! I bought my 715 of internett some time ago. 2 of it's motors seem to have stopped working, so I'll send it to a german repair shop this summer. It'll still be a good deal, I think, as I only paid 37 Euro for the camera! I'm not sure I'm going to do surgery to the camera myself, as there is a good chance the process will go from surgery to autopsy... But good to know it's possible, and I might make an attempt when my other 715 arrives in the mail :-) Bauer Pauer it is! Although I also like to Nizo Pizo and Beaulieu .. err Pollieu?
  14. Hi, I don't have the answers you're looking for, but I was wondering if you could link to the places you got the information for the bauer 715XL from, as I've just purchased one :-) If someone has the manual, I'd be interested in that too. I'll upload it to the manuals-section of my website too.
  15. I too need to get some recording equipment, and found this site helpfull: http://www.transom.org/tools/ (OT-btw Alessandro, that's some very cool super 8 photography you have got on your site!)
  16. If anyone is interested, you can download the manual for det polavision version of this camera from my webpage: http://www.super8.no/manuals.html (scroll down to M) Also, I found this article - http://www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/biomems/eland.html - very interesting. It's about the man behind Polaroid/polavision, Edwin Herbert Land (who actually was awarded more than 500 patents)
  17. Hi! On my new website - www.super8.no - I will host a - hopefully - growing list of smallfilm related manuals, available for free public download. All will be in pdf-format. Direct link to the list: http://www.super8.no/manuals.html I have around 115 manuals posted at the moment, mostly manuals for cameras and projectors, but other fun stuff is allowed to. I have 5 gb of server space, and I am currently only using about 300 mb, so if you'd like to help the smallfilm community by submitting manuals to be uploaded for free public access, there's plenty of space. Don't worry about the format of the file(s). I will combine them in Adobe Acrobat and save them as a 150 dpi pdf. You can send me manuals per e-mail to: I intend to keep the website and the manuals available for free till I grow old, which hopefully is a long time from now. I just want to find a manual when I look for one. And I guess it wouldn't hurt having people actually visiting my website either :-) PPS! Check out the "picture of the month": http://www.super8.no/month.html Bjarne.
  18. Hey, thats a funny coincidence - on the back of your manual the adress says "Scandiafilm A.S. Dronningens gate 4 Oslo 1". That's about 800 meters from where I live! Actually there is a company with that name still, but it's situated in another part of the city now. Doubt they'll service my 4008 though... Anyhow, small world, and so on :-)
  19. Hi, where I work, we just got a "company deal" with an electronics store. This means I can buy stuff there for the same prices as my employer gets. The store has the following three cameras available at prices I can afford: 1. Canon DM-XL2 (price is 40 749 Norwegian kroner including taxes) 2. Canon XH-A1 (price is 31 680 Norwegian kroner including taxes) 3. Sony HDR-FX7E? (price is 26 995 Norwegian kroner including taxes) I need the camera for general shooting, but would also like to use it with the Workprinter Xp, which I just have ordered! Which camera do you think will give the best results with the Workprinter XP? Tried any of them? Pros and cons? Image quality is the most important factor to me, but having no-trouble-great-sound is of course a plus. HDV seems tempting, but are the optics good enough to conquer the XL2? Hope to get some first, second and third hand advice from you people! Regards, Bjarne, Oslo, Norway.
  20. I have gotten some answers to this on the cinematograpy.com super 8-forum. The main answer I got was that this would be too wide for most use, but would still be fun to test: Check the thread here and see if you agree! Regards, Bjarne, Oslo, Norway
  21. Hi, I have a question that might be answered a dozen times before, but I'll ask anyway: 1. An article by Martin W. Baumgarten in the super8wiki says that anamorphic formats has the following approximate projection aspect ratios 1.5x lens = 2:1 format 1.75x lens = 2.25:1 format 2x lens = 2.66:1 format 2. An article by Rick Palidwor on the Sleep Always website says that filing the film gate to Super Duper 8 gives an extra 13% of image on the right-hand side of the film frame when looking in the viewfinder. 3. All this seems great, but is it possible to combine them and shoot anamorphic super duper 8? If not, why not, and if so, are there any problems to it? Hope to hear your advice, as it would be cool to both shoot anamorphic and to have the extra amount of the picture. Regards, Bjarne, Oslo, Norway.
  22. Hi, I have found a sankor 16f lens on a flea market, and i was wondering wether it is a lens that can be used for widescreen shooting? I have seen that there are sankor 16 lenses from A to F - what is the difference between them. Are there some that can be used for anamorphic and some that can't? Regards, Bjarne, Oslo, Norway. By the way, which camera below 100 bucks would you guys recommend for attaching this lens to? I have a nikon r10, a nizo pro and a beaulieu zm4, but all of them have zoom lenses with long focal length. So I guess they're not suitable? On the other hand, i do have a canon 310, but it seems a bit too small and plastic'y to attach anything at all to. Further, probably a very stupid question... When I have shot the film, and had it processed and telecined, and get it back, how do I get it to show in widescreen? Are there some things I have to tell the telecine company, or and so on... As you can guess, I'm don't quite get the theory part of all this yet. But thats where you mentors come in! Hope you have some advice, as I would like to do some christmas filming in cinemascope! Regards, Bjarne, Oslo, Norway.
  23. Excerpt from an ad i saw on ebay this morning: "...Canon Super 8 Auto Zoom 814 ... It allows film speeds of 12, 18, and 24 feet per second..." WoW, thats what I call fast slow motion capabilities! But I guess I'd empty my pocket just as fast buying those 50 feet cartridges, though. Feel free to post your "best" eBay buys in this thread
