It isn't as if half an inch will be added :) Widening the gate itself is the first thing. Unmount the gate, file out the need body on the left side or take away the full side and leave the film unsupported on one side. Be sure not to loose the springs et cetera. Don't drop them in the camera either. Do a test to see how the lens lights the frame corners. Second you could adjust the viewfinder tube inside. This would be rather simple. No chisseling or such. Adding extra lines in the viewfinder would be de-luxe but do-able On recentering the lens I would like to call the bluff. I assume it isn't actually done. You could see if you could adjust the gate-plate sideways for half the added width :) There is play in the Super-8 cartridges. Sorry to list it here but advertisements sink like a brick in water on the marketplace section as it is flooded by copied steadicam forum advertisements. Discounted it a bit as a compensation :) Kodak Ektachrome 100D Double Super-8 16/8 2R 122 meter / 400 feet Kodak 7285 CAT 186 1681 One metal can, never opened, from cooled storage. NOT homebrew DIY. Kodak original perforation in Kodak packaging. Bought it for a project from USA, own import. It is now in Europe. Save on duties while it is here. Never made it into the work and I don't expect any use in the short or long time. Nice to expose in DS-8 camera like Elmo Filmatic of Canon Scoopic for maximum sharpness or slit it into two strands and use these to fill 16 pieces of loadable Super-8 cartridges. Over 50 minutes of running time at 18fps! You can have it easily have it processes at any ciné lab which does E-6 Now selling it at USD $900 or EURO equivalent I have images of the offered can, the website is very limited on storage. IBAN banking preferred Paypal available at +3% I have an over 700 eBay positive feedback Rolls of 400ft of single strand meterware Super-8 was offered at Euro 400 http://www.filmvorfu...ektachrome +400 And sold out quickly... No to forget the USA based 20 cartridge cases at $1900 or 2 cartridges at $170

Super 8mm labs in France (or a nearby country)
Andries Molenaar replied to Gene Sung's topic in Super-8
This could work although not really in Paris :) Still close to RER C stations which line easily brings you from Paris centre. Don't show your gear too much on board, or at all. Check if they process every day or when. -
Super 8mm labs in France (or a nearby country)
Andries Molenaar replied to Gene Sung's topic in Super-8
I would bring along the film myself. X-ray risk is from modern machines is almost hypothetical. Don't use leadlined containers. Security will turn up the power to peek through and thus enlarging the dosis :) Bring them especially considering the hassle to get a few in Paris which could well cost the better part of a day. Not to forget the nearly doubled prices in Europe and certainly around Paris where everything is upped in price. I am not sure if there is a Super-8 lab in Paris itself where they really process themselves. And once a week at least :) You should consider Andec or Super8.nl Keep their get-in-before-processing-day schedule in mind. Postal service in Europe is excellent but you need to verify the running time for small parcels. Otherwise consider a parcel service. Getting a HD-scan on the same go is best discussed with the labs. I suppose www.super8.nl is most suitable when you want to agree on a scheme as they process by hand and procedures are more flexible (I think). -
LAbs have machines to spray and hose off the remjet. There is no need to remove it in advance of processing. DIY people usually do it after the chemistry part is done. Don't let the film dry and take of the remjet before further washing. Filter the baths after using them. Soup up your German or just watch the instructions: http://www.filmkorn.org on VNF http://www.filmkorn.org/e6-fuer-ektachrome-vnf-filme-optimieren/ remjet removal http://www.filmkorn.org/tutorial-entfernung-von-remjet-bei-super-8-filmen/

It offers strikingly saturated color performance while maintaining a neutral gray scale and accurate flesh reproduction. 5285/7285 Film has exceptional sharpness that is unsurpassed by any other 100-sp eed reversal film, and its grain performance is excellent. This film also offers very strong reciprocity uniformity and keeping stability. This film offers outstanding results in outdoor and studio applications where strong color saturation is desired. It is excellent for advertising, nature cinematography, documentaries, music videos, and is especially good for telecine transfers and television filming. BASE Acetate safety base. EXPOSURE INDEXES Daylight (5500K): 100 Tu n g s t e n ( 3 2 0 0 K ) : 25 (with 80A filter) Use these indexes with incident- or reflected-light exposure meters and cameras marked for ISO or ASA speeds or exposure indexes. These indexes apply for meter readings of average subjects made from the camera position or for readings ma de from a gray card of 18-percent reflectance held close to and in front of the subject. For unusually light- or dark-colored subjects, decrease or increase the exposure indicated by the meter accordingly.

nizo 561 macro + wittner chrome 200D reversal film
Andries Molenaar replied to Hugo Alexandre's topic in Super-8
The Nizos have a analoguesqe ISO sensor :) I.e. a wedge shaped feeler protrudes in the notch as deep as it can. This feeler is part of the EE system and moves a door more or less in front of the light sensor. The door is perforated. Hence it makes the EE system adapt to the ISO of the cartridge inside. If 200 is out of reach it will adjust to the camera's highest ISO. -
I am not keeping track but will Kodak offer a proper option of lenses? Bizare enough this shown TV lens costs no more than one film, possibly even without processing :) In the Super-8 days a camera would cost $1000 (1975 dollars) and Kodachrome would sell at $3-4 Like in this famous Super-8 saga http://www.retroroadtrips.com/ Not to mention the price of fuel :)

Macro is a gimmick of the past. Few use it these days. Framecounting is convenient to keep track of scene lengths etcetera. If it remains on when the camera is off then you could tell how much is left :) Not too many cameras have framecounting.

Battery holder or options for Bolex 551
Andries Molenaar replied to Stewart McLain's topic in Super-8
Try a set of AAA. The modern AAA have more capacity than the AA from the time of the design of the camera. You could even consider a set of rechargables. Voltage is slightly lower then.- 4 replies

Most shoot Super-8 for its character and ambience. Not to have look like 16mm. If you want to view some super Super-8 try the clips from forummember: Jose luis villar http://www.joseluisvillar.es/ Shot using a 30 year old Beaulieu 4008

The time open for starting a dispute in Paypal is limited to some weeks. Not months or years. Very brave to send friends to the house of people who are obviously stricken with bad luck and illness. See how bravely you would accept and find normal to advertise such behaviour when inflicted onto your parents or yourself.

Do they really take these Rhonda cams apart and refurbish them? I was under the impression it was merely finding good running cameras and fixing funny leatherettes to these. Apparently there is an audience for these 5 dollar cameras at 300-400. Seems the website pro8mm is not working at the moment... 11:23 MET 10 3 2016

Are you now supposed to enter the field without any further cover or fixture? It doesn't need the 3.6Volt? Seems, it is a stripped and partial rebuild by Pro8mm. No zoom or aperture-control on the lens. I recall they listed coloured versions for a while. Later they were always the same repaint in hammered grey. Or what is it called :) Or is it from Japan? There was a seller who had all colors. Mostly metallic look.

Is the camerabody painted green/turquoise? Imagine the fingers to touch at three concentric circles at the base of the original battery. Indeed the centre is then 7.2volt (usually red), the middle 3.6 (yellow) and the outer ground 0.0 black.

Thanks for the identification. I posted because the striking composition of the image and the role of the classic camera there. It also brings forward the advantage of the past topmodels from Canon, Nikon et cetera. The advantages of Super-8. Convenience with top quality optics. Only image stability is somewhat less when shooting without tripod or shoulder pod :)

Who needs a new Kodak (or Logmar) if you can shoot Super-8 using gear like this: https://twitter.com/Kodak/status/705423083398668288 intro to: http://htl.li/YZH5Y "Super 8 Gets a Ticket to Hollywood on American Idol"

I haven't exposed any 500T but I understand from reports that latitude is so wide that a general setting for an evening-street scene will suffice. I.e. use your experience or use a exporure meter suitable for low light. Advantage is that your images will not suffer from an exposure system interacting with light coming in or going out of the scene.

There are no optics in the adaptors. So the focal length determines the view. The NALCOM has its own fitting and there are adaptors to accept several bayonets or screw lenses of those years. No C-mount though. Why would you want patents?

Which Super 8's have the interchangeable lens feature?
Andries Molenaar replied to gary szunyog's topic in Super-8
It may be new when/if it comes to market. It will have no lens or this fixes focus thing which they used to demonstrate at the introduction. The new camera is more or less a film-holder and film-transporter machine. It has very little features so every thing must be adjusted by hand. A hard battle at $25 per minute of film when most barely know how to operate classic exposing mechanisms. So getting a proven technology machine isn't too bad an idea. You'll have it when you want it and most are feature laden, mostly with classic top lenses :) -
Your photos are way (4x) too big and mess up the page layout. This on a modern large screen windows system. Let alone on a tablet or Phone.
-
Tri-X actually benefits from a filter switched in. It works like a light orange filter and enhances clouds in the sky. But then you can't as the camera swings it out when a cartridges is placed in which hasn't got the daylightfilternotch out :) I doubt there is actually a difference in R10 and R8 exposing. It is a standard feature on most automatic EE systems. More likely a feeler is not working properly then.

For Sale - Isco Gottingen Anamorphic lens 1.5X

Thanks Carl, I hadn't looked at their website yet. What a laughable nonsens to present it now as if the stop was pre thought and was a cellebration of 50 years of Super-8. They gave up just like that after the beta 50 pieces? Most likely this was instignated by the Kodak co-op or it even was a requirement. Production would be too much hassle anyway if it could work at all from Denmark at Denmark costlevels. Maybe some will still want one. I doubt it will be collectable though, at all. There are plenty good options, directly available, elsewhere now.
