  1. Results of archival DVD testing. https://danieldteolijrarchivalcollection.wordpress.com/2018/10/09/gold-dvds-are-better-than-silver-dvds-at-least-somewhat/
  2. Most I'd be doing is 2K...unless lotto cooperates. Never heard of Davinci Resolve Light, did hear about Davinci Resolve. Someone had a pirated version on ebay for $299. (don't know if really pirated on not, but possible.) Will look into both recommendations. Thanks
  3. Does anyone make an easy to use color grading software for adjusting contrast, increase blacks and color corrects red faded film? Thanks

  7. Looks good. Website was easy to access. Some of the video looked a little flat to me, but maybe that was the look wanted. I didn't like some of the stills in your journal. I like clean still photography and the quality varied too much for me. Nice job with the site overall. Especially liked the experimental film.
  8. A vintage pinup magazine 'The great cross-country girl hunt' 68 pages. https://photographysgoldenage.wordpress.com/2018/09/27/glamour-photography-magazine-1957/
  9. Lets see a clip of the film. You can never take good photos of the actual light souce.
  10. Do the movies look good or not? If you blow up anyhting big enuf and pixel peep it looks bad.
  11. You guys and gals should be documenting places of interest you visit and putting the shoot up on the Internet Archive. They have a CC option where it is for non-commercial use if you don't want them used commercially. (Although we all know people don't follow instructions.) Put up some decent res work. No watermarked garbage, no low res garbage. Keep that for Flickr. Here is a shoot from a 2 hour trip to March Field Air Museum. I've missed out on tons of shoots like this. Never thought of it until the recent Araki exhibit in NYC which I did a large shoot on and will post someday when I get time to PP. https://archive.org/details/MarchFieldAirMuseum2018D.D.TeoliJr.1 Photo / art exhibits need to be archived. They are only up for 6 to 12 weeks...get em documented.
  12. I think it is pretty good. (But I am not a commercial photog, only do documentary work.) It looks professional except for some color glitch that popped up for a second. Looked like a commercial for a hotel with product placements for the credit card and coffee. Good work!
  13. What do you suggest for easy to use grading software for PC?
  14. If you have something important, scan at highest res you can afford. It helps, even if slightly. I do lots of upscaling with still photos in my archive.
  15. This is a toughie. You get one chance, for one shot, once a year at Easter to get the Bishop. Lots of things have to be in line and make it an iffy shot. First year I did it I wore a hoody with wrist watch...too much bulky distraction. Another year hands were too high, another year too low, another year Bishop quit before I got up there, another year Bishop put his hand in mine and the movement looked bad. This year's try was OK, maybe it would have had more separation in color. But all I had was an old BW Leica Monochrom, so made the most of it. Also got kids big head in it which does nothing for the pix. Should I mention it...photo is candid. Guess I should, people always ask me if my stuff is posed. They can't figure people shoot this kinda stuff without permission...and more important I get it! Also one of the very, very few times I wear a neck strap. Camera has to be perfect height and it helps if you got a little belly to push out to raise the camera slightly. Shot was done via 2 second self-timer. ISO 3200, just usable for my taste. And it had to be pushed 1-1/2 stops or so as it was an adapted fisheye, slow to start with and more slow after adapting. Photo has had about 20 minutes of post processing, but it has not been printed. A printed version may need some more adjustment. Transmitted light does not always equal reflected light. I shot it at Easter and just looked at it today...by chance. I got photos going back to 2013 I have not looked at yet. Am backed up terribly. Photo may go in a book I'm doing. We will see.
  16. Looks good as is. Will have to see the recut though. I liked starting out easy and then it built up after that. Good work!
  17. Look at the rewinds. Very cheap back then. Just bought a used set of rewinds for $140...took 6 months to find them too. I bought a 2 gang synchronizer for $12 + SH. So sometimes things are a good deal now.
  18. Here is an example of pushing a digital image 2 to 5 stops https://danielteolijr.wordpress.com/2015/04/13/an-example-of-push-processing-a-digital-image/ You can see what type of noise to expect. Although a still photo can be contrast graded and improved upon more so than bulk cine' post processing.
  19. The little film clip looks OK. But what is it like on the big screen? The scans look terrible. For one they are too light. Print little darker. The comment on the sprockets is right on. I think it is noise, not grain. But am no expert.
  20. Ediquip 1976 Film Editing Equipment Catalog https://photographysgoldenage.wordpress.com/2018/09/04/ediquip-1976-catalog/
  21. No idea what it is or value. But I grabbed some photos of it to put in my 'reel and can' archive... https://danieldteolijrarchivalcollection.wordpress.com/2018/07/15/selections-from-small-gauge-reel-film-can-archive/ As far as price? One time I had a hangover and bought a CD for $30+ that was worth $5 on Amazon from a buyer in Germany. I thought I was buying a DVD. So some sellers gamble that they will make a killing on some scatterbrain or just get lucky.
  22. What sort of software did you edit with? Any post processing or is it as shot?
