I'm still getting somewhat giddy when I play with my Arriflex 16 SB Super 16 and the scan returns from the lab. I had a few feet left in the camera and, for the first time, cranked it up to 50 fps. Just had to share this...

I bought this zoom together with an Arriflex 2C BNCR Mount in the late 90s to shoot some missing plates for a commercial. Since that time it has been attached to the camera, sitting on a tripod and never used again, whilst looking good in the corner of my living room. Recently I decided to get the 2C converted to 2perf and PL mount. If anyone is interested in this Angenieux zoom which was made in the 60s, I believe, and sports a BNCR mount, please send me a DM. (Camera NOT included). I do not have lens caps. There is minimal dust and there are cleaning marks (see images) but that didn’t affect the footage I shot back then. Not sure what this lens is worth today but make me an offer. You’ll never know. Shipping and any other customs charges not included. The zoom is in London UK.

Does anyone know what compensation is needed for an Antique Suede 3 filter?

Aapo, who said that. Who is chasing the perfect free camera? Really don’t know how you came to that conclusion. Someone here mentioned a modern equivalent to the Arriflex 16 S but nobody has been discussing an affordable 416. One is a one man portable camera the other a camera that needs a crew to operate. I think there is a market for the former.

Up until recently the man who developed S16 conversions of the SR and SR 2 cameras when he was at Arri charged less than 2000 Euro for the work. He is retired now and a little reclusive. There are so many people keen to get their hands on a Super 16 camera, I suspect a newly engineered one could be a success, as long as it is affordable and not just for rental houses.

2022 Film Stock Price Increases?
Uli Meyer replied to Robin Phillips's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
If your prediction comes true, that would mean Kodak is on a suicide mission. Film just had a mini renaissance and by raising prices, they are putting all those analog cameras back to doorstopper status. I spend quite a few grand each year on non-commercial film projects but I don't know how many people like me are out there. In Germany there is a saying "Kleinvieh macht auch Mist" (small livestock also produces manure) but maybe not enough to support the Kodak business model, if there is one. -

4 months on and the prices in the UK have gone up twice. They are now a little more than 20% up from last year. Makes non-commercial projects even more difficult to finance, sigh…
