  1. Hi Raaf, You could try Master Cases or Innerspace Cases. https://mastercases.com/ https://www.innerspacecases.com/ Both have done custom case orders and refoaming in the past for me.
  2. Hi Boris, You should be fine clipping the adapter and 82mm ND directly on the lens. I've used Series 9 filters which require a clamp on adapter and a retaining ring, on Zeiss Superspeeds (S35) and Zeiss Standard Speeds. The 18mm Superspeed and the 16mm Standard Speed have no issue with these filters. I suspect you should get by with no issue with this adapter. Matthew
  3. Hi Khalil, As Kyryll mentioned above, the RF mount will end up bearing the weight of the lens anyways. The best way to use PL lenses with the Komodo is to supply the mount adapter with a support that attaches to the body or the camera body cage. The rental house that I work at usually goes with the Wooden Camera version of the RF to PL adapter since the price point is lower than the RED $1,500 version and it is shimmable if needed. If you do have a cage for the camera already, I would recommend a mount adapter that will be compatible with the cage. It's not necessary but easier to mount and not have to worry then considering the weight of the lens each time you swap. Since you're using the Angenieux EZ which basically has the adapter built in, it's kind of up to you at that point. That lens can also be PL or even EF mount if you wanted. Personally I prefer the PL version of lenses since I am able to use a wide variety of well established cinema grade glass with AC friendly characteristics and the glass isn't so darn close to the sensor.
  4. I was a loader on a music video that mostly used EXR 5245 50D. The DP rated the stock at 12 ISO. Most of the footage came out pretty solid. We did have some slight green tint in one of the rolls and some loss of contrast but overall it was a pretty acceptable image for the price.
  5. Hi Paul, There are tons and tons of filters from several different manufacturers to choose from. The first thing I noticed (as mentioned above by Joerg) is that there are no solid ND filters. If you were looking to match your set, I'd go with the Schneider Rhodium FSND 0.3-1.2. Most jobs don't tend to need past that given that a lot of digital cameras are including built in NDs nowadays. I would also recommend a set of Diopter Filters. 138mm seems to be the most flexible format for this type of filter and typically you only need the 1/2-2 strength but other strengths do exist outside those strengths. If you're looking to expand on different diffusion options I would also look at Tiffen or Formatt for some other options as they are (especially Tiffen) extremely common in the rental world in Los Angeles.
  6. Hi Deniz, It seems that someone else had a similar issue issue as you in this thread. It looks like you may need to convert the signal from Analog to Digital or use a monitor that has a SD SDI in. Matt
  7. Hi Steve, Ryan Avery at Avery Optics has cut down glass for me in the past. He typically does this in a large batch to make it economically worth it though. You could also try Ron Engvaldsen. He used to be over at Schneider but may have some leads on this type of service.
  8. Hi Philipp, I have prepped a show a few times now where they shot with the Sony FX9. The DP and their post team seemed pleased with the Cropped 4K sensor mode. They were using Canon Cine Servo 17-120mm with the Wooden Camera E to PL adapter. That particular lens was able to cover 5K Crop mode on the FX9. From speaking with the DP, they came from shooting their show with Sony F55s and the same lens arrangement. The show was shooting in remote wilderness in the US. If you're planning to shoot with the Fujinon MK that might pair well with the native E mount of the FX9. I see this as an improvement across the board compared to the FS7.
  9. I've seen people using the 6" L Bracket that Modern Studio makes. One end will go to the tripod and the other has a dovetail mounted to it. You could mount the camera if you had a bridge plate.
  10. If you're referring to the first generation of Litemats with the green connectors then yes the build quality isn't the best. At the rental house I work at we purchased the newer generation (Litemat + series I think) and they are much more reliable than the previous ones. Also sometimes the connections would slip out from the connectors and you'd have to re-insert them into the connector with a small tool in the kit.
  11. Does anybody happen to know where I might be able to find a working 400' magazine for an Eclair ACL II? I haven't been able to really find any on ebay recently. Thanks!
