  1. These days, with falling prices, it would probably be cheaper to get a second body with three-lens turret and dedicate that to the primes. Jean-Louis
  2. Either set ISO to 160 and use shutter speed 1/50 or set ISO to 250 and use shutter speed 1/80. Both ways are good and will give the proper exposure (for 24fps, that is). Jean-Louis
  3. If you take out the screw completely, you will see the tip is smooth and straight. This tip rides in a groove on the eyepiece barrel itself. With the screw out, you should be able to move the eyepiece barrel freely in and out. If it moves freely, then put back the screw and tighten it little bit by little bit until you feel the tip catch in the groove. Tighten some more but not all the way. Too far and it might jam the barrel. Rotating the plastic adjustment ring should now move the eyepiece assembly smoothly in and out through the whole range. If this doesn't work, then you have another problem. Jean-Louis

  5. You have a cable for the variable speed motor. Two sockets, one bigger, one smaller. You just need to put two banana sockets at the output of ypur battery pack. As for the constant speed motor on the camera base, it will certainly have a different tupe of connector. I can't see in the picture. Jean-Louis
  6. No power cable? Those are not easy to find. You might have to the motor modified and install a permanent hard wire cable. Otherwise, the 5A battery is fine.
  7. Those Cinepower packs must be ten times the cost of a Batteryspace pack. JL
  8. At http://www.batteryspace.com/ Go to this page: http://www.batteryspace.com/16-8v-nimh-battery-pack-series.aspx Any of the packs with a capacity superior to 4Ah will work. The higher the Ah, the more running time you will get. The 10Ah model is the best. Be sure to get the recommended charger. If you just want to do some quick tests, you can make up a pack out of 3x 6V lantern batteries in series. Very inexpensive. Cheers, Jean-Louis
  9. You can adapt Hasselblad lenses to Arriflex. Of course, you'll be limited to longer focal length lens. The widest angle is 40mm I think. Visual Products has an adapter for sale. http://www.visualproducts.com/storeProductDetail02.asp?productID=1042&Cat=3&Cat2=49 For the price, you can't go wrong. Jean-Louis
  10. The manual is on the Aaton website, although it might look a little different than yours. http://test.aaton.com/files/35usermanual.pdf Jean-Louis
  11. Looks like Arri standard mount with a Arri to Aaton adaptor on it. Jean-Louis
  12. Charlie, I like your theory about the pedigree of the lens but what would be optical explanation for the uneven colors? Jean-Louis
  13. Oooppss! Didn't read carefully. Then the results are even stranger. No clue. Damaged lens coatings maybe? Jean-Louis
  14. From what I've been researching on sensors, it's possible, with certain particular combinations of lens and subject matter, to actually have white balance variations across the frame. There is nothing you can do about it while shooting, but there are software solutions available to correct this effect.
  15. I can highly recommend Edmund Optics precision made brass spacers: http://www.edmundoptics.com/optomechanics/modular-mounting-components/c-mount-components/c-mount-brass-spacer-rings/2012 For the Angenieux 10mm, the 0.25mm might be all you'll need, but it's good to have a few different ones on hand. Cheers, Jean-Louis
  16. Aranda Films had a three-perf modded Cameflex on eBay only a few days ago. It doesn't look like it sold. the auction number was 141387993600 Cheers, Jean-Louis
  17. Only the 100 foot loads of 7203 were mentioned. Of course, it's still only rumors at this point. Jean-Louis
  18. I've been following an interesting discussion on the Frameworks mailing list: https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/pipermail/frameworks/2014-August/014485.html Jean-Louis
  19. Sounds more like a mechanical obstruction that stops the aperture at f/5.6. If this is the case, replacing the batteries won't solve the problem. Jean-Louis
  20. http://www.pro16mm.de/neu One step in the right direction! Jean-Louis
  21. I can sell you an adapter that will work with both Arri standard mounts and bayonet mounts. It's steel and very well made. Price $150 USD. PM me if you're interested. Cheers, Jean-Louis
  22. Does anyone have any idea how many A-Minima cameras were sold worldwide? Jean-Louis
  23. Have you tried walking through airport security with that device? ;-) Jean-Louis
