  1. @Karim D. Ghantous Check out The Slow Mo Guys on YouTube if you want to see some fun mind bending slow motion shot on some of the cameras @David Mullen ASC mentioned.
  2. Hey Scott, I messaged you on the Steadicam Forum as well. Available?
  3. I tried out the Nodo wheels at CineGear and they felt really amazing. Haven't had any practical on set experience yet, however. I love that you can adjust the drag and they have a super solid feel to them.
  4. I've used these for some time and love them! https://getfractals.com/
  5. A friend of mine said he had a good experience shooting a documentary with the black magic 12k windowed down to 4k which gave him a 16mm format and used the Canon 8-64. I thought it sounded like a great idea and the stills he showed me looked awesome! Really small camera size with a huge zoom range.
  6. As far as I remember the bolex has a 3/8"-16 or maybe 1/4"-20 tapped hole so you should be able to mount it to just about any tripod or gimbal you would use with another camera. Its pretty close to around 10lbs so you'll just need to get something to support that. Even the dji Ronin rs2 might be pushing it weight wise? Love the idea of some gimbal shots with a bolex! Be sure to shoot on a pretty wide lens at a deep stop since you won't be able to pull focus.
  7. @Gabriel Devereux I'm gunna be honest a lot of that went over my head lol, but I appreciate the knowledge! I obviously have a lot to learn about wireless signals. So you prefer mounting your wireless transmitter in this way on to the gold mount at the back of the camera? Thank you!
  8. @Nate Jones ah yes I hadn't thought of the heat. Those things really do heat up! Thanks for tip on those mounting brackets, they look really convenient.
  9. Hey y'all! What are your thoughts on these Teradek mounting plates? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1083689-REG/teradek_11_0761_dual_gold_mount_battery_plate.html I find that as an operator it's difficult to deal with the Teradek transmitter on an arm. It always seems to be in the way and I like the idea of the camera being more streamlined. Maybe it just leads to having one more point of failure in the power? Hard to get line of sight, therefore less reliable signal? Let me know your thoughts!
  10. Hi Matt, looks like these have been very popular! Have you sold any of them yet?
  11. @Attila Somos Does the LTR have a video tap? How many mags do you have?
  12. Funny thing is I recently made a (rough) film resolution comparison to illustrate the difference in size between S16 and 2 perf 35mm to show a director. Thumb for scale! That said we both agreed there have been some beautiful S16 2.40 films. I.E. The Wrestler and Black Swan.
  13. How much is the SR2 listed for? How many mags do you have? thanks!
  14. @Michael Rodin How much are you selling it for? What do you have for mags, batteries, aks?
  15. Curious if you've had any luck. I have a friend looking as well, but it's pretty bleak ATM. Anything available is definitely selling at a premium.
  16. I have an enduro baby tripod and I went to switch from my Manfrotto head to a rented OConnor 1030D head and realized the same tie down doesn't work. Funny I assumed they were the same thread pitch, but one must be M10 and the other 3/8"? I'm having surprising trouble finding this bit of information. Anyone know the thread pitch for these two manufacturers? Thanks!
  17. Sounds counter intuitive, but maybe filming with a faster stock (250d or 500t) would sell the effect better. Considering that's what you would probably use if you were actually shooting at dusk? I'm sure you can achieve this in the grade, but just a thought.
  18. I've been preaching the gospel of power lifting (weighted squats, bench, deadlift). Squats especially helped me with my handheld operating and overall stamina on set. Trouble is finding the time when you're working a lot! P.S. Also remember to stay hydrated!
  19. What are y'all's thoughts on the Flanders BM090? I often times find myself working as a Cinematographer/Operator. I always trust a Flanders for lighting, but is the BM090 just way too big to mount?
  20. Also, Lustr's and skypans are super awesome for this type of thing! Find yourself someone who's good with dmx/board op and you'll get some really nice stuff. Obviously a good amount of haze will help you out. https://www.etcconnect.com/Products/Lighting-Fixtures/Source-Four-LED-Series-2/Source-Four-LED-Series-2-Lustr/
  21. Thanks for the advice fellas. Seemed pretty obvious and I've realized it's all a balancing act, but I appreciate the feedback.
