The budget was so small, like really small! We just managed to get hold of an Alexa for the weekend. We used my Canon EF lenses which I use normally for stills. Hi all, I'm going to be shooting a short film in the very near future on the Sony FS5. The Camera only comes with a kit lens, so I was wondering whether it was worth sourcing another lens to work with. I know friend's have pretty pricey Canon lenses, but I'm unsure whether these would be better or worse. The film is going to be shot mostly outside on location, shots of buildings and streets etc. If anyone has ideas, let me know. Thanks.

Looking for more info on this rehoused 14mm f2.8L. Just got a great deal on ebay. There was little info on the post and the guy didn't get back to me. From the photos I thought it was PL, but it's wider and the seat is deeper. Any ideas on the source of the rehouse or the mount?

Is it mostly based of preference? The one's I know by name are Canon, Sony, Zeiss, Cooke's, Leica's, Sigma's, Panavision, Arri and Rokinon. I like the Zeiss super speeds because the smoothness of the gears whenever on I'm on a follow-focus rig. Also the sigma's quality I really love. Rokinon's are pretty decent for their price when you need to get something like a knock-off zeiss, I've heard people say. I own two Roks, really are impressed with them. So all in all, does it comes down to preference/price? or are there more factors?

So I really just cant catch a break when it comes to super 8 cameras, I have a Canon 814xls that i got off of Ebay non working, and I got it working perfectly by cleaning the dc jack contacts. However it sounded like a cement grinder at high speed so I had to take it apart and get to the mechanism. I eventually got to it and lubed it and put it back together and nothing, nada, kaput. and I know I put all of the connections in the right place. So the one thing I have not done is to check if i'm getting voltage, I kinda had to step away from it for the night in fear that I would in my sleep deprived state break it more. However I did check current from the battery to see if it was taking current, not even a uA was being taken from the battery. I tried to battery check and it did not work either. So I am kinda at a loss here, if anyone has a 814 xls and is willing to take it apart and compare wiring or even better a service manual that has wiring diagrams. It would be of great help. I will get pictures on here when i get home from school, the only pictures I have right now are my wiring reference pictures on my phone. Thanks Avery

Element Technica Micron camera mount with LW 15mm rail mount, dovetail, padded shoulder mount, and riser plate. This works with most Sony F series cameras (FS700, FS-7, FS-5, F-5, F-55, F-3) and Canon C series cameras (C100, C200, C300, C500). The mount is in great shape with only a few minor scuffs to the anodization. Works great, but I don't have access to an FS-7 camera anymore. :( This is being sold as a complete set, so don't ask me to part is out. PM me for details. This is a duplicate listing because I can't delete the original and this is a better picture of the camera mount.

According to the article "The Steadicam and "The Shining" (American Cinematographer - August 1980) Garett Brows says : "To annoy him we would indicate the forest of TV antennas aimed at the studio from suburban Borehamwood and imply that the TV signal was escaping the sound stage and being watched by a gaggle of “Monty Python” women every morning: “Ooooh, poor Mr Brown!… That take seemed perfectly good to me!” Somewhat later, our imitation ladies got even more sophisticated: “Ooh, must be the 24mm Distagon!, see how it’s vignetting in the viewfinder!” I was thinkking if that "24mm Distagon" is a Zeiss Standard Speed 2.1 (in The Shining kubrick used Super Speeds 1.4) OR the Canon 24mm ASPHERICAL 1.4 he used in Barry Lyndon ... As i know .. 24mm Zeiss distagon doesn't vignetting !!! but a Still converted to Cine lens ??? -Probably Brows called "distagon" the canon not becouse it's is "official" name but becouse of his curvness -Also the 1.4 speed of Canon would be a great advance in this low ASA 80's What do you think ?? Not exactly cinema level gear but I figured I would list here anyways. Selling a set of EF Leica R lenses I've had for a few years and never use anymore. They're great little lenses (sharp but still have character/creamy out of focus areas) but things are all PL these days. All Duclos modded and matched, declicked, ect. All are EF mount so great for any doc red/alexa shooters who want something small and simple. 77mm front threads so they work with photo filters. What dependable companies or individuals can you suggest for lens services? I want to have a set of 70s/80s Canon FDs cleaned and serviced (slight dust, fungus, haze). Additionally I'd like to remove the lens coatings. They will ultimately be rehoused so mounts/seatings are not of concern. The entire kit may include: FD 14mm f/2.8L FD 20mm f/2.8 SSC FD 24mm f/1.4L FD 35mm f2 SSC ii FD 55mm f/1.2 ssc ASPHERICAL FD 85mm f/1.2 L ASPHERICAL I'm based in the states (midwest) but am talking with GL Optics/Nan to rehouse them. Hey everyone, I recently have been attempting to understand ACES. Currently, I am using C-LOG footage from a C100 mk II, but I've noticed that the IDT for C100 C-Log isn't listed in the Resolve project settings. I've found a CTL file for this (presumably) on Canon's website, but I have no idea how to install that in the program, and the more I try to delve into ACES the more complicated everything seems to be. Does anyone have advice for this? Thanks!
