  1. Hey, I just bought an SRIII but it only came with one battery. Anyone know where I could pick up a couple more? Or, does anyone know someone who could make a small onboard that could plug into the 4-pin xlr? Looking for new, used, aftermarket, 3rd party, whatever. Cheers!
  2. For Sale Arri Fujinon Alura 45-250 Lens Asking $26,500.00 In very good Optical & Mechanical condition some scratches on barrel around lens support. Comes with Front and Rear caps Case Call me or email me. 843-554-7811 or email Barbara@newprovideo.com

  4. I very much love my CP-16. I found at an incredibly low price a Arri B/standard to CP mount adapter - it's the unit that Visual Products sold a while back. So, where have all the Arri B/Standard mount lenses gone? I'm looking to build a prime kit. I would like to find a normal or wide to start with, 25mm or 18mm or so. For that matter, where are all of the CP primes? I'm totally open to using Russian glass as well, provided I don't need to completely rehouse the lenses. For those that might be tempted: No, I would rather not sell my cp-16 and buy (insert name of "better" camera here). For that matter, I don't wish to purchase a new set of whatever for $60,000... I also refuse to pay $5000 for a single 50 year old prime. If it comes to that I'll just buy a new one. Not trying to be hateful, just where my thoughts are currently. Edit: I may not be totally opposed to changing the camera to PL mount, if that's the way things just... "are".
  5. I have a set of Cookes (S4s) with a 135 macro T2 in the set. Nice lens, but the range of Macro shots I need to do I think is beyond this lens. However - they can only afford one full set. There are some options - use Arri Macros (not Masters, ultras, or super speeds - I know them only as Arri Macros), there are a full set of the macros available. - But director wants to know if we use these what are they like compared to the cookes (which he likes) I can't tell him because I have never used the Arri Macro set. What to do, stick with the Cookes and the 135, plus get in some diopters to get the shot. Or go with the Arri set of Macros. The question really is what is more beautiful? I have never seen the Arri's - also there will be no time / option on a test. Any advice? Would love to see examples of Arri Macro set if there are any out there. Thanks all.

  8. Hey everyone, So for this low budget commercial I'm shooting, I'd really love to have a stronger light at a distance to get a "shafts of light through window" gag with haze. It's just not in our budget so I'm trying to find the best way to get a large parallel beam into a small space (the room is only 15'x19') and I feel like the M18 could be a way to do this. I'd also consider using a Joker Leko setup but I'm just afraid it won't produce as large or powerful of a beam as the M18. Arri describes the M18 as having the best aspects of a par and fresnel - personally I love this light and I've been able to produce some venetian blind gags in small spaces with it before. I know an ordinary par wouldn't work at such a close distance. My question is, do you think the beam of the M18 is parallel enough to make a gag like this? Thank you, Chris
  9. I have 3 fresnels in perfect condition, you would be mistaken for thinking that they are brand new. ARRI 150w, 300w & 650w fresnels. They come in a Kata case with a wheeled trolley. no stands included. The case has some cosmetic wear, trolley has been wheeled down the street no more than once. I'm looking for a buyer based in London. I can sell individual part if there is interest. If you are interested in purchasing please send me a message and I'll send across some pictures.
  10. For sell a Zeiss SuperSpeed 9.5mm T1.3 S16, a great luminous wide angle cine lens. I sell it because i search a zoom instead of primes. Price is 900 Euros + shipping. Regarding the state of the optics there is no mushroom / fungus / dust inside. There are slight "cleaning marks" on the glass, as well on the front and rear element, obviously not affecting the image. But there is no claw or crack on the glass. I bought it for a French DP who took great care. Cosmetically really in good condition, the paint and the numbers / lettering are there. The aperture ring is very fluid, the focus ring is less fluid, a little harder, but it doesen't affect the focus at all, change focus is easy. Super Speeds are among the best Super 16 lens and they have been used on many feature films. The resulting image is still impressive today. This is a test that I realized with the Blackmagic Pocket: https://vimeo.com/129887125 I am at your disposal for any additional questions, optic can be seen in Belgium. The lens is Arri Bayonet mount, also i sell the adapter Arri Bayonet to MFT from Ciecio7 for 90 euros extra. This adapter is one of the best available adapter and is shimmable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arri-Bayonet...-/251176724708

  15. Hi everyone, I am reposting this beautiful lens at a reduced price. I hope you will take a look. If you are reading this you probably know the important information about this important lens. THIS LENS IS ABSOLUTELY MINT, AS NEW! I am a Cinematographer who owns my own gear. This lens has never been out of my sight. I am selling this lens because I simply don't use it enough. 18. Hello! I am seeking advice on how to best prepare for an upcoming shoot where I'll be focus pulling with the ARRI Master Anamorphic Lenses (35mm, 50mm & 75mm). This is my first time focus pulling with these lenses, and anamorphic lenses all together and I want to make sure I am fully prepared to do my job right. I am still relatively new to focus pulling (less than 2 years experience) and would greatly appreciate some advice to help me through this shoot. I have been reading the forums about anamorphic lenses but I have yet to find specific info on the Master Anamorphics. My questions are: 1) How do I measure focus when there is an arc in the focus plane. I read that if a subject is 6ft away and the lens is set to 6ft, then the subject will be soft. Is there an equation for calculating the distance from the lens plane, to the subject while taking the arc of the anamorphic lens into account? 2) Does the iPhone app PCam help camera assistants with these sorts of calculations? (If so, looks like I will finally be buying that app!) 3) When shooting at T1.9, do these lenses breath in a distracting way? Meaning if I'm racking focus at T1.9 and I happen to miss a mark, will it be extremely obvious because of the breathing effect? 4) We will be shooting in the middle of the desert during the day & night, so does anyone have any tips in regards to the difference in pulling focus wide open vs. fully closed down on these lenses? I am still not 100% sure if I am asking the correct questions and ALL of the questions that I need answered in order to be prepared. But I would really appreciate any advice that you can offer to a camera kid just starting out in the business. Merci beaucoup! :D
  19. Hi everyone, I'm writing to you because I'd need your hellion my Arri 2C. I just got it and measured the door to see it was Super35 4 perf full aperture but the ground glass has the size of academy anamorphic. It came also with another ground glass, the size of academy anamorphic but with the 1.85 lines. I actually did a test shoot this past without thinking the ground glass would actually be different. So I framed with this academy 1.85 glass to a S35 door. Since it's only a test shoot, it's not too bad but I would love to know your opinion on this one as it seems pretty weird. Any thoughts ? I have a small commercial to come and we need the product to be 1.85 so I was wondering how to frame with this ground glass since I will be doing an extraction from the S35 frame. Thanks so much ! Ben
  20. We have an Arri Alexa Plus 4:3 XR package available for $59,950. This was a Plus 4:3 upgraded to the XT. bvw@vidgear.com
  21. Hello all, This is a stupidly specific question, but I'm hoping some of the rental guys can chime in (help me, Guy Holt, you're my only hope). It recently came to my attention that all of my fixture heads are scratched to poop and I would love to do some touch up on them. Does anyone know where I could source some Mole Richardson high temp red and some Arri high temp silver/blue? I know a lot of local houses here in DC will matte black their fixtures partly for the sake of keeping them look tidy but I would love to avoid this. I know this would involve dismantling the fixtures for painting and painters taping over necessary warnings but work has been slow and I need something to keep busy. Thanks!
  22. Hello everybody. It's my first post on lighting here on Cinematography.com I'm looking for a lighting kit to use with my Black magic Pocket Cam and 16mm lenses, that could be affordable, compact, and produce good results. Artificial Lighting is not my strong on Cinematography, I normally improvise with natural light, and have used an Arri Red kit before. Loved the results. I know there's a difference between fluorescent, incandescent and LED... though what would be a good choice in the case of using for small productions? When it comes to buy, its worth ask around for those who understand before go to BH Photo. Please let me know your suggestions. And thanks in advance. Thanks, Flavio
