  1. Hi, I'm student of cinematography and I'm looking for s16 camera package (preferrably Aaton or Arri sr) or/and s16 lens nojusdra at gmail, or p.m. here Thanks! Nojus
  2. Hi everyone. I was wondering if it could be optically possible to adapt an SR3 original eyepiece, designed to cover the super16 format, to an Arriflex SR1 (super16 converted) viewfinder. Do anyone know if it could be relatively easy to replace the sr3 eyepiece's mount and eventually recycling an old sr1 eyepiece's mount to let it compatible with that? What problems should I face and how could I do? Thanks
  3. Hi! I'm looking for the P+S Technik Rodenstock 25mm Super Wide Angle eyepiece or a 35 bl eyepiece for my Arriflex SR super16 converted. Does anyone have any to sell? Thanks
  4. I have for sale four Arri groundglasses. These are standard glasses, so from memory will fit a IIC or a 35III - but others might be able to put me straight on that. They're also great for many viewfinders, including the Kish UDF. 1. 'TV' (4:3) with mounting bracket. In excellent condition. 2. Another 4:3, no mounting bracket, some pencil marks where it has been marked up in a mystery ratio. Tiny mark bottom right, very clean otherwise. 3. 1:1.85, marked up to 16:9 (?) A chip on one side from bad handling, but it doesn't encroach into the picture area. Good for a viewfinder, or general use. No scratches/marks otherwise. 4. Probably a 4:3 but has been taped to 16:9 at some point. Apart from the tape residue (easily removed) it's in excellent condition too. Each one has a case - happy to sell separately or as a set, pickup or post. The going rate seems to be $150 (AUD) each, and $100 for the one with the mark. They're eyewateringly expensive new. But let's talk - I'm happy to negotiate for a package deal, or if these prices seem out of whack. Postage will be from Melbourne, Australia. Cheers, Jonathan. ( ** I only seem to be able to upload images of 2 of them - message me for more images **)

  6. $2,500 O.B.O. Great 4x5.65 lightweight studio (swing-away) matte box for sale. In good condition. I know a few top-level ACs who prefer the MB-19 over the MB-18 or MB-20. This can mount on 15mm LWS rods, or with the included adapter, on 19mm studio rods. If you want to use with 15mm studio rods, you'd just need to pick up that adapter: K2.66040.0. Includes two 4x5.65 filter trays and it can hold a 138mm filter in the rear. Front horizontal tray holds either a 4x4 or 4x5.65 filter and rear vertical 4x5.65 filter tray is rotatable, great for positioning a grad filter just right on the horizon. Eyebrow and side brows included. Rubber bellows for 110mm included. Also included is plastic adapter to reduce 114mm to 80mm, but you'd need to buy Arri K2.52204.0 in order to use that. But then you'd also have a 114mm option. Case is a bit worn but foam is generally fine. Included hard shipping case has a small impact point near a corner (pictured in linked flickr album). Here are ten high-res pictures: https://flic.kr/s/aHskvKPSRB An excellent pdf technical resource for this matte box can be downloaded here: http://www.arri.com/camera/pro_camera_accessories/products/matte_boxes/studio_matte_boxes/studio_matte_box_mb_19/downloads/ Just click on: 29 May 2017 8.6.0 Matte Box MB-19 4x5.65 Download (pdf, 352 KB) I'm located in Brooklyn, NY. Thanks for looking.

  8. Hi, I'm struggling to find a 400 foot magazine for the Arriflex 16m that will ship to Australia. It looks similar to the 16bl magazine but has slightly different drive gears. If you have one you'd be willing to sell and send overseas, let me know. (I'd also be interested in the 1200 foot mag if anyone has one) Thanks - Aren
  9. Hi everyone, I am trying to find out what lenses were used in the shooting of Terrence Malick's Badlands, but there seems to be no info available on this topic. I just know that three cameras were used during the production: Mitchell Bncr, Cameflex, and Arriflex. Badlands was shot in 1972, does anyone know what lenses were common for any of this cameras around that time, specially for the Mitchell? Thanks!
  10. I've been trying to purchase a decent Arri SR2 w/ Super16, but they're either too expensive, the sets miss a lot of vital accessories, or the cams don't seem to be in the best of shape. This has lead me to consider going for a regular SR1 or SR2 and mount anamorphic lenses. My questions: Does anyone have any experience shooting Arri 16SR or SR2 regular 16mm with an anamorphic lens? What are the biggest challenges? Do I have a lot of options with anamorphic lenses on a arri bayonet mount? Is the noise level on earlier Arri SR1's gonna be a problem for nearby sound recording? Thanks! ?

  14. Hey guys, I recently purchased an Arri SR2 Highspeed and have some questions regarding a connector I found on my camera that is not on the manual nor in any other SR2 I've ever used. The cover on it says F9 and it has 7 pins on top and 7 holes on the bottom half of it. Any ideas on what this is? Cheers! Manuel
  15. We continue to restore the old movie cameras of the Second World War and shoot videos reminiscent of newsreels of the 1940s on them. We use the American Bell & Howell Eyemo cameras and the German hand crank camera Askania 1930s. We shoot 35 mm black-and-white Russian film Tasma and German AFFA aerial photograph. Soon we will repair the Arriflex 35 camera of the Third Reich and remove its historical reconstruction WWII. Watch our "military" video review
  16. Hello! This is my first post here on the forum and I would like to begin it by thanking everyone who posts on here; this forum has been a huge source of information for me, basically like the film school I couldn't afford, so yeah thanks everyone. I just recently acquired an Arri 2c, one that was advertised by the seller as a high speed model. It has the tachometer that reads up to 80fps, but from doing research on this forum and others, I understand that it is possible to attach that tach to a non high speed model. I've read that the only fool-proof way of determining if the camera is an actual high speed model is by the presence of four extra screws on the film gate that can adjust the pressure of the gate. But having been unable to find another picture of an Arri 2c gate to compare mine too, I'm unsure if the screws on my gate are the high speed ones or just the standard. Here's a pic of the gate on my 2c: Is this the high speed gate? And if so, is the combination of the gate and the 80fps tach enough to pretty much guarantee this is definitely a high speed model and is safe to run at 80fps? Just want to be sure, as I have a high speed motor on the way and would like to be sure of what I'm dealing with. Speaking of the high speed motor, I've read that it needs 32v to run at 80fps. At the risk of sounding silly, how exactly do I acquire 32v of power? I can't seem to find any 32v batteries that can connect to the high speed motor. (The cable for my motor has a 4 pin XLR). Is it a case where I would need to have a battery specially fashioned? Anyone who has any experience running a 2c at high frame rates, your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  17. Hi there, I am new here, hello! ?My first question is about an Arriflex SR2 mag I just bought. I have a SR2 that was moified for S16 long time ago. Now I would like to know what modification I would need to do to use a normal SR mag with my camera. Is it only the pressure plate or are there any other modifications that I need to go through? I read somewhere that the tunnels must be widened but I dont really see why because the material is the same, isn't it? ? Yours, D.C.
  18. Hey! Looking up to buy 2 or 3 perforation conversion kit for Arriflex 235. Thanks, Nauris.
  19. Hi, Thank you for all the answers of my last topic. Now I have a question regarding the viewfinder of my SR2. There are some dirty spots in the frame when I look through it. The lens is clean so it must be the viewfinder. How can I clean it? Can I open / unscrew it from the body? Any recommendations? ? Thanks for reading, D.C.

  25. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293635925639 Purchased last year and never tested it because the cost of testing and potentially fixing at the time would have been too high. I've since purchased a Super 16mm camera. The seller who sold this to me sold it to me as a "IIC", however upon inspection, this looks to be a standard model IIB as the ground glass is not removable and the shutter is not variable. Standard IIC's aren't variable shutter, however all IICs have a removable ground glass, this one does not so it is a IIB. The rotary shutter on this particular model is a "butterfly" shutter as is with every model after the IIA. The mirror is clean including the ground glass, internals look clean as well including the 4-perf gate. The ground glass baffles are still within the glass and unbent. Power cord is not in the best condition and as shown and the 3 pin XLR will often slide out of it's metal covering. The hand grip motor is untested. Upon rotating the shutter by hand, it seems to rotate smoothly and the lens turret rotates normally as well. This model has three Arri Standard mounts, unlike some models which have two standard mounts and a single bayonet mount. The viewfinder compartment door mechanism locks and unlocks as normal, and the mechanism that closes the eyepiece works as intended. The rubber eyecup is unusable as it has dry rotted. The 400ft magazine is again untested, but seems to be in good mechanical condition. The locking mechanism on the magazine locks and unlocks normally. The feed spindles and take-up spindles spin smoothly including the footage counter. The Matte box has signs of heavy use and needs cleaning. Overall the camera body and magazine appears to be in heavily used physical condition. Serial number of this camera is Nr.4221. Price is $999.97 or best offer + $120 shipping. Shipping will include signature confirmation and insurance via USPS Priority mail and will ship one business day after the payment is made. EDIT: Before I even get the question I am going to clear this up, because I've gotten it before. I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS IS AN ACTUAL IIB AND NOT AN UPGRADED IIA. There were two models of the IIB in 1960. There was the Arriflex 35 IIB which had a 180 degree fixed shutter, and there was the Arriflex II BV which had a 0-165 degree variable shutter. It's very tricky because the serial number starts with Nr. on IIA models and No. on IIC models, but with IIB models, some used No. and some used Nr. It doesn't help that the IIB compartment doors could fit on IIAs and actually many IIAs were upgraded to IIBs by simply using the newer style magazine, compartment door, and handgrip motor. The II series started around 2000 and ended all the way well into the 15000s with the IIC meaning this could be a fairly early model IIB or a late model IIA. Either way it has the new compartment door, magazine, and handgrip motor making it either a IIA upgraded to a IIB or an actual IIB. I will say though, The internals look identical to the IIC at a glance, which the IIB was. The IIA internals were very different in appearance. It's very hard to find information about the IIA or IIB because the IIC dominated the MOS camera industry. I come to the conclusion that it is a IIB, whether upgraded or not, because in almost every instance it appears that way and I don't have an Arri technician to do a serial number lookup.
