  1. Is it possible to power an ARRI SR I/II with 14.8v gold mount batteries? I understand the voltage would need to be converted to a regulated 12v, but even then is it posing a risk? I happened upon this plate: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/839205-REG/Movecam_MOV_306_0208_BATTERY_BRACKET_FOR_GOLD.html I would have to use a 3-pin male LEMO to 4-pin XLR cable to take advantage of the regulated 12v output. Is that possible, or would it pose problems? Any insight would be dearly appreciated, as I'm quite uneducated when it comes to power supplies. Thank you!
  2. Currently trying to track down any kind of a battery (non functioning is fine) w/cable for eclair ACL 1 or 1.5 (original 4-pin jaeger connector) or even just a 4 pin jaeger connector to fashion a new cable, already have two batteries with XLR out, just need the jaeger end (original cable was fried) neither Bernie at Super16inc nor Andrew at AZ spectrum seem to have any stock so checking here, much appreciated!
  3. I've heard that they have been used on ships and hard to reach places in little cave. They seem light on battery, but how are they used on the go?
  4. I just learned I have access to an Aaton LTR but that the batteries went missing. I've searched for batteries online to no avail and was wondering if anyone here knew anyone selling them? Let me know guys, Thank you!
  5. Hey everyone, I recently purchased an Eclair NPR off of eBay and I've got some questions about it. I'm trying to find a battery solution for it. I've read through other posts and I see that there are a lot of different routes I could go. So far I've been looking at this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048193-REG/bescor_fp_12vatm_12v_lithium_ion_battery.html as well as this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/126161-REG/Cool_Lux_BC3054_BC_3054_Battery_Belt_LCE.html. I would love to hear everyones thoughts on these! My second question is about a piece of gear that came w
  6. Hello, I just got an order of Litemats Spectrum 1 and 2. I also got a single gold mount battery plate to PL4 to power those litemats on Battery. My question is: How would you power such a light off a gold mount battery? What would be the minimum requirements of that battery to be able to turn on the light? I know it is possible since the accessory is sold by Litegear themselves in order to power the Litemat 1 and 2 Spectrum via a single Gold-mount battery... I'm asking since I tried using a 160WH 14.8v and the light won't turn on. (I would use those batteries to successfully power the Lit
  7. I want to buy a 12v new battery suitable for a Bolex EBM. There's nothing on ebay and in Super8filmaholic website is out of stock. I have one old Bolex battery but I am looking for an alternative with more capacity. Best, Marcos
  8. HI All - I have an old Beaulieu 5008s I bought used back about 1983. I used it a few times, but then it's sat in a closed case for the past 30 or so years. Battery's completely dead and won't charge. I've been looking around to see if anyone can recell the battery or if there's a DIY page that explains it, but haven't found anything so far, and the leads on this site are all fairly old. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! Tim Walton
  9. Hi! I have been looking for a new 16mm battery for my Eclair ACL2, but no luck. My old battery is in the picture attached. I have tried this type DC 12V 4800mAh Super Rechargeable Portable Lithium-ion: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics , doesn't work at all. And this one 12V DC Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Pack for CCTV Camera: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics which works only up to 25fps, the camera stops working at 50 and 75fps. It seems to be a lack of strength. Any tips to help me finding an appropriate battery? I still have a few BW cans in my fridge! Thanks for your time! Luca
  10. I've got +/- 40 cheaper gold mount batteries, Ikan IB-L130A, 14.8V 9.0 Ah 130Wh in my inventory. They're in good shape as far as the battery cells, but the outside cases are getting beat up and cracked. Ikan doesn't have spare/loose cases for this model anymore. Does anyone know of a generic case that I could re-home the cells into? Or maybe a 3d printed design that would work? I know it's a long shot. Just trying to keep the inventory functioning as long as possible.
  11. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone had a ARRI 416 On Board Battery Adapter for sale. Such as the one for sale by Oppenheimer. Thank you very much Matt
  12. I'm looking for a power source for my Eclair NPR 16mm camera and I think I'm starting to get a rough idea of what to look for (still open to suggestions tho) but one key question: does a higher frame rate require more volts? The manuals I've seen online suggest a 12 volt, 3-5 Amh battery to power the Perfectone motor but I've seen discussions about the motor stopping as soon as the FPS rate goes up. Someone who appeared more knowledgeable than myself said the higher frame rate would require higher voltage. Possibly up to 15 volts. However I've also read discussions where people war
  13. Has anyone tried making their own external power source for a Bauer 715? I recently rolled the dice on a relatively inexpensive Bauer 715 and the good news is that it does run. ...The bad news is that it only runs if I hold the battery compartment in the perfect position. One problem is that the white plastic "battery housing" or battery holder is missing so the batteries move around quite easily. I may have at least temporarily conquered that with some tape. Anyone familiar with Bauer 715 probably already knows that the lid for the battery compartment is broken and won't sta
  14. Does anyone know what the external battery connector on the grey canon Scoopic is called or where I could find one? It has 4 pins but it's clearly not XLR
  15. I've been shooting on a K3 for the past year or so, and decided to pick up a Scoopic (Gray model). The camera definitely needs a CLA, but overall seems in decent condition. The main problem is power, which I understand is common with scoopics. It came with a battery and charger. The battery is charging now, though I'm assuming it will need to be recelled. I was curious as to what other options there are in terms of powering the camera. Specifically, I was wondering how simple it would be to make an external power source to connect to the four pin connector on the camera. I'm no electri

  17. Hi, I hope someone can help answer a few questions. I just received a very mint condition looking Beaulieu 4008ZM with the Angenieux 8-64mm. This was won in an online live-bid auction a month or so ago (a large number of Super 8 cameras from a collector). It looks great but I don't have a clue if it works as it didn't come with a battery (not even a non-working one). Here is what I've discovered: - I can't see an image thru the viewfinder. From the posts I've read I am presuming it is because the shutter is in the down position. - I need to purchase some sort of battery. Looking on the
  18. Hey! So I am really excited because I got my grandads BEAulieu 4008 ZMII for Christmas. The thing is that it hasnt been used in 15 years. He took great care of it but the batteries are not in great shape. Does anybody now about where and how to get new batteries? Or any good servicing in London as well to look over it? Any help will be appreciated. I have shot a ton on a Bolex but I'm new to 16mm! x
  19. I just got a Photo Sonics 1VN (action master 200) in unknown condition and no batteries. What kind of battery (voltage/amps) the original uses inside the "shoulder mount" adapter which is supposedly meant for sports high speed filming? the battery case itself is there but the cells are removed. I am planning to fit NiMh cells there once I know the voltage and power needed. and, is there some of the original lubricants available anymore or some alternatives for the movement? I won't use it regularly even if I get it working but may have to use it in cold temperatures (about -20°C or so) .
  20. Hey, I just bought an SRIII but it only came with one battery. Anyone know where I could pick up a couple more? Or, does anyone know someone who could make a small onboard that could plug into the 4-pin xlr? Looking for new, used, aftermarket, 3rd party, whatever. Cheers!

  22. Hey everyone, I bought a Minolta Autopak 8 K11 super 8 camera a few months ago in Mexico City. When I first shot a roll of color, everything was fine. But after a while the camera would randomly not shoot, the mechanical zoom wouldn't work, and the battery checker on the back couldn't recognize the batteries. But then the next time I picked it up, it would work fine! I assume the connection from the batteries in the handle to the body of the camera is faulty somehow, but I wanted to ask here if anyone has had an issue like this with a Minolta. I hope there is just dust between the
