Prashantt Rai
Their website has interesting thing to say for the six member core team. Apart from Nicola Baldini co-founder and CEO who is dying to shoot his next project on ferrania stock, there is a "Mysterious American" (not identified) who is working vigorously to put this product into the market. The current market for film has shrunk drastically. With Kodak still active and plenty of FUJI stock still in the market, I wonder if these Ferrania guys will be able to rise over the two industry brands - Kodak and Fuji. But its also true that in the near future, it is companies like Ferrania only will survive the niche film market.
Todd Anderson
I just posted the latest about Kodak and Motion Picture stock in the "General Discussions" area. Very relevant to this topic, of course. http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=64456 Kodak, Hollywood talking film guarantees Article link below: http://www.democrata...e-film/13361327/

Heikki Repo
Also, this is in the FAQ: When will you begin making film? We are on course to turn on the machines and make our first test batches in early Autumn 2014. We will make an announcement soon about the schedule for commercial products. What's the hold up? Our main facility is currently being refurbished - free of charge courtesy of the regional government in Italy. We are also on a deadline to purchase additional equipment from the old Ferrania buildings that are crucial to our operations. For this, we are seeking funding. What's the Italian Government have to do with this? Regione Liguria, the local branch of the Italian Government, has been the most amazing partner FILM Ferrania could ask for. They feel a great need to keep this historic product "Made in Italy" and have supported our team for more than a year as we lay the groundwork to restart. They have worked with us and Ferrania Technologies to schedule the destruction of the old buildings on a timeline that allows us a really good chance at getting all of the pieces we need to build the new kind of film factory we envision. And they just spent €1.2 million renovating our main facility! They want FILM Ferrania to restart and they're doing everything they can to help us.

Anthony Schilling
http://www.filmferrania.it/news/the-lrf/2014 Yes i got this on Facebook. The former research facility is just a much smaller tooling of the original, a luxury that Kodak does not have which is essential for the current demand/production of film. Between that and Kodak's alternate plan of film based touch screens will hopefully be a perfect solution to this whole conundrum of film production. I really hope to see some cool new stocks from Ferrania. I would encourage people to contact them with imput and support, they are welcoming it. Heikki Repo
Yeah, just backed and hoping to get a Collector box. Good chance to test the film in all different formats! :)
Kenny N Suleimanagich
I did the same! While I never shoot super8, this will be a fun chance to do so. Also I believe the film is on an acetate base? So I wont have issues respooling the 16mm to run through an Arri 416.

Todd Anderson
Put in a pledge, as well. Really excited about Ferrania. They are certainly the 'White Knight' of analog going forward, especially for color stock. It should also be mentioned that they have done an excellent job on the packaging design (apparently keeping in tune with the 1960's look). It feels classic, minimalistic, and almost like a fancy pack of cigarettes. These are going to look good rolled up in your t-shirt sleeve out on a shoot ...
