  1. I sell the pearl of my collection. This is already a rare version of a unique camera. Luxurious set with three cassettes 120 meters. The device is working. the price of 5000 euros, I can discuss, but if it does not, I will not worry)
  2. Hi there, I'm selling my Scoopic 16MS. The camera is in excellent condition, it really does look brand new. It comes with 2 batteries, both of these will need recelling. A charger, lens hood, 5 internal filter trays. An external battery box, and a fitted case. Happy to ship to the states. £450 plus shipping
  3. Hello everyone, 4 lenses for sale, in excellent working condition. A nice complementary set, all in PL mount: 3x Carl Zeiss and 1x Panther Carl Zeiss Distagon 8mm T* 2.1T Carl Zeiss Distagon 16mm T* 1.3T Carl Zeiss Distagon 25mm T* 1.3T Panther Cinar Super 16 35mm 1.3T Information on the Panther: "in the 1990s Panther got these lenses custom made in small batches. Since there is no 35mm lens in the Zeiss lens set for Super16 and since the 8mm Zeiss lens would not cover Super16 it makes sense to get such lenses custom made to complement a Zeiss lens set." £3800 for the set.
  4. Hi all! I'm interested in pairing the Zeiss CP2 lenses with the Arriflex SR1. Will the flange depth on the CP2s be a able to work with the SR? Is it possible to pair these two? Thank you!
  5. I've recently purchased my first S16 camera (Aaton XTR Prod) and I'm looking to make an investment in a zoom lens I can use for allround purposes and no-budget projects that I can still use on productions where we have the budget to rent e.g. Ultra16s, Super Speeds, S4s/SK4s - Hoping someone in here can give me some advice on the topic. I'm interested in a zoom that has the following properties: PL Mount Close focus of 0.75m or closer Has at least 12-30mm range Preferably ~T2.8 or faster Covers S16 fully For these requirements I've narrowed my options down to either: Angenieux HR 11.5-138 T2.3 Angenieux HR 7-81 T2.4 Cooke 10.4-52mm T2.8 (CVK) Cooke 10.8-60 T3* (CVK) Cooke 10-30 T1.6 (CVP) Cooke 9.5-53 T1.6 (CVT) Cooke 10.6-52 T1.65 (CVT) I didn't include the Canon Zooms as I don't feel like they give me the look I am going for. I also didn't include Zeiss Vario Sonnars in the list because their close focus is too far. But they may be workable with a diopter. I'm afraid of losing sharpness however. Any thoughts? Any other lenses that I might have missed in my research are much appreciated. Do you have any advice on these lenses. And which do you prefer?
  6. Hello folks. I'm reading conflicting stuff about the rating of 16mm stock. Do you guys rate your stock a full stop over or 2/3 for day exterior? How about night exterior? I'll be shooting 250D and 50D mostly for now, on regular 16. I'm already compensating for the prism light loss on my Bolex Rex5 so I don't want to overexpose too much. What are your experiences? Thanks for your input!
  7. Seeking to purchase an Arriflex SR series camera. Technical Requirements: Arri SR series (SR, SR2, or SR3) PL lens mount Super 16mm gate Preferred Included: hand grip spare mag 15mm rods long viewfinder No lenses, video tap, or other accessories required. Just in need of a solid, working camera. Max Budget of $3500 PM for communication
  8. Hello everyone, I recently got a Canon Scoopic Ms and it's ready to roll. The camera is very easy to use and I found some helpfull info here and on other websites, but I couldn't find the user manual. Do you guys have a pdf version that you can share? I have the Scoopic M user manual and the camera is very easy to use, but maybe someone can tell me what the "Remote" options printed in orange and only available on the MS version do. Was there a remote for the camera? Can the camera be triggered electronically? Thanks in Advance.
  9. Hi! I have been looking for a new 16mm battery for my Eclair ACL2, but no luck. My old battery is in the picture attached. I have tried this type DC 12V 4800mAh Super Rechargeable Portable Lithium-ion: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics , doesn't work at all. And this one 12V DC Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Pack for CCTV Camera: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics which works only up to 25fps, the camera stops working at 50 and 75fps. It seems to be a lack of strength. Any tips to help me finding an appropriate battery? I still have a few BW cans in my fridge! Thanks for your time! Luca
  10. I'm looking to buy an Arri 416. Please reach out if you have one for sale. Thanks, J
  11. WTB UNDER £1200 Graduate in the summer and would like to shoot my own film on 16mm. Preferably looking for a bolex sbm or rex 5 but don't mind as long as it's reliable! Based in Newcastle/London and willing to travel. Thanks
  12. Hi Everybody, I've just acquired an Arri SR2 Advanced and wanted to know if someone knows where I can find dummy film stock ? I need to practice a bit before starting to shoot something real. I live in Switzerland and we don't have labs and film stock anymore in here, everything is closed and out of stock... Let me know. Thank you
  13. Hello everyone, I've been lurking on these forums for a couple of years now, but this is my first time posting. Usually whenever I've had questions I can find answers here, and I'd like to thank you all because I have learned so much from this community. I have some concerns about my Krasnogorsk-3 that I'd like to discuss. I've been interested in learning to shoot on film, and I managed to purchase one back in January for about $60 after shipping. For a simple camera to learn on, I thought the price was great. As far as I can tell it runs smoothly and is in pretty good condition, but of course I'm not quite experienced enough to make that call. There are two things that I've noticed might be issues for my camera though, and before I start a short personal project I plan on doing soon, I'd like to get everyone's insight on it. One problem is that the top loop former doesn't move when I push down the plunger. I can physically pull it up myself, but it doesn't open up the way the bottom loop former does. At first I wasn't that worried about this because I was thinking I'd remove these anyway, but after watching the disassembly and reassembly videos several times, I chickened out and will likely send it to a professional for that if need be. The second problem is something I noticed that seems different about mine compared to those I see in Youtube videos about loading the camera. In a couple of these videos, the rollers that you feed the film into are able to open up slightly, as can be seen in this video here at 1:22. When I tried that, they won't budge at all. Are these serious problems for my K-3? Will it still work despite these issues? I appreciate any insight you all may have.
  14. For the purposes of future testing for a project, I would like to get some opinions on the various characteristics of some Super 16mm primes. Flares, bokeh, sharpness, contrast, color temperature, the works. Lenses in particular I would appreciate information on are... Zeiss Super Speed Mk 1 Zeiss Super Speed Mk 2 Optar Illumina s16 Cinema Products Ultra T Any other prime sets that have both 16mm & 25mm focal lengths. I'm really only interested in prime lens sets, no single primes like the Angenieux 5.9mm or any zoom lenses.
  15. Hello, (I don't have much experience in filmmaking). For a project, I am planning to make some 3d animations mixed with some digital footage. My plan is to then shoot the projection of this video in film (either super8 or 16mm). My questions are: is this doable? what kind of digital projector do you recommend? is there going to be any flickering problem? what about color balance? thanks.
  16. Hello all! I'm shooting a short on 16mm Kodak 500T Vision3 next month. I'm looking to get a cold look out of the film. Thinking blue hues in the shadows, while keeping low contrast in the image. Hoping for something along the lines of the look of the film Godless. Specifically inspired by the MSs of men at 01:33 and 00:33. I have interiors and exteriors, day and night. Planning on using natural light and LiteMat 4's for lighting, and Ultra Primes for glass. Planning on shooting regular 16mm to get the tall aspect ratio. I was thinking I would use an 81 filter to adjust the Tungsten stock for daylight scenes to keep some of the inherent blue from the tungsten stock. I was also toying with using an Antique Suede 1 filter for colour correction... but was wondering if anyone has any advice or would know how to get a look similar to Godless. Should I pull the film a stop? Any filters I could use I don't know about? Appreciate any comments! thank you Peter

    Pilotone

Heading into the field shortly to shoot some sync sound camera tests-- I'm interested in trying to use as much of my "new" camera as possible, including the Pilotone and the start mark system. Has anybody had success recording this Pilotone, especially going to a digital recorder? If it's possible, I'd love to be pointed in the right direction for cables, 5-pin DIN to 3-pin male XLR. Thanks!
  18. Hello, I bought a Krasnogorsk 3 off of Ebay and it shipped over from Ukraine this Monday. I have a shoot this Saturday so I know it is a bit of a rush but it arrived early enough for me to test the exposed film and I found out that there is a continuous scratch along the non-emulsion side of single perf super 16mm film... I thought since this is a regular 16mm camera, maybe the scratch is where the other claw is trying to pull down? It is not in the middle but rather the edge. But I know K3 takes both double perf and single perf and this scratch is very concerning, not really sure where it is picking up the scratches from. When it is going through the upper loop through the roller I see a single scratch and when it comes out from the lower loop and out into the take up spool, I see another scratch. (2 lines as indicated on the picture) So I am assuming it is from the main sprocket or release pin... Please let me know if I got a crappy one and if or if not this is fixable to start anywhere, because I am sure it is not a dust since it is consistent line all along the film. Thank you so much
  19. Greetings Everyone! Need some advice here on a sailing documentary which I have shot on S16 with an Arriflex SR3 camera. After a lot of struggles and failures, I have reached 50% of what I really wanted to achieve. Anyways, I have started assembling the footage. Cinelab Mass., has done a good job. I have the negatives scanned to 1080p HD without timecode. Few editor friends of mine suggested that I get the negatives scanned again with a timecode and then with a final cut timeline get a 2K scan and grading done the way we do for movies. I wish to showcase the documentary in film festivals. Do you think an HD output won't do justice? Generally, what formats are documentaries shown in film festivals? advice and suggestions welcome.
  20. Hello, I am preparing to shoot a project where I what to use both 16mm and 35mm stocks. The plan is to shoot the CS to MS sized shots in16mm (7203) and the wider angle shots in 35mm. I am looking for advice about which 35mm stock to use that will best match the 16mm 7203 in grain, contrast and color. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you. 21. Hello, Nice meeting all of you. I been shooting a bunch of super8mm this past year, and really enjoying the process. Im just starting out to play with 16mm and will appreciate any answer or help. (no need in-depth or long replies) - I just got a "new" Krasnogorsk K-3 - I was wondering where can I send it to check up/service in Los Angeles Area. Any tricks and tips about that camera? - Where can I get a proper loop for it? - Where is the best telecine lab you guys know in the US? - Super8mm - where can I service my cameras? I got Canon 1014AZ that needing a service as the motor start to get weak. Thank you in advance, Benjo https://vimeo.com/benjoarwas

  23. I have never been able to find the answer as to why film gates have rounded corners. The question pops up when ever a 16mm gate is widened to super 16. But I generally cannot find the answer. the only possible reason I could think of is if its trivial to have right angles and speeds up the machining processes after milling, not to have to go in and clean up the corners. Any Ideas anyone?
  24. <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/244517536"width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> <p><a href=" ">iron sportster 883 hd</a> from <a href="https://vimeo.com/user18835395">Prashantt Rai</a> on <a href="https://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p> https://vimeo.com/244517536 I shot this long time back, early 2014 perhaps. Had the negatives scanned, graded, and 2k footage stored in a hard drive. The drive crashed. Data recovery guys were asking a lot of money. I got it scanned again now. I shot this with a focus puller and a driver one early morning on Kodak 200T.
  25. I just started with small gauge film this year. Here is an interesting 16mm film on Eastman House I just had digitized. Covers early photography. Although I'm an old school film photog, I don't know much about movie film work - am learning on the job. Opened a YouTube account at 10 minutes to midnight last night and put it up. Most of my film archive are probably not allowed on YouTube, so will put them up on the Internet Archive. Happy Thanksgiving!! Dan
