  1. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase an orientable Angenieux viewfinder for the Eclair NPR. I have the original Kinoptic viewfinder which is being laser brightened soon, but I would love to have an orientable vf in the kit. Let me know if anyone has any leads! Thank you, Tristan
  2. Hi, I'm looking for the possibility to use an ARRI SR1 in regular16. I'm shooting with a custom made anamorphic kit adapter 2X. I read somewhere that it is possible to adapt the 2x viewfinder from a ARRI 35BL into an ARRI SR1. If anyone would be knowledgeable about this. One question would be if this is even do-able, and another question will be how I can buy it and have it mounted on the Arri SR1. (not interested by video assist etc..) Thanks. Matthieu
  3. Hi Everyone I am a DP from India. Often the cameras that come for shoot don't have properly calibrated monitors and viewfinders. Since there isnt always a DIT on set, different monitors have different look. Especially if the camera viewfinder doesn't seem right it's a frustrating experience. Is there a way I can calibrate the viewfinder and onboard camera monitor for the Alexa or Red cameras? I don't mind buying a device/tool to do the job. Can somebody pls suggest a solution. Thanks Varun

  5. This SmallHD 702 Bright is brand new and in the box. The box has never been opened. As such the monitor is still covered under SmallHD's warranty. The 702 Bright is an incredibly bright, on camera, monitor that allows camera operators or 1st ACs to see the screen in daylight without a sun-hood. Which if you've ever tried pulling focus off of a Shogun, or some such monitor/recorder that has a really low nit count, in the daylight it's a disaster. The 702 has really convenient features that make life on set a lot easier. In addition to the brightness the 702 natively takes Sony BP style batteries as well as Canon LP-E6 batteries. The 702 is also able to receive SDI and put out through HDMI, or vice versa, if you ever had that need. In a lot of ways it's a really versatile monitor that's worth taking a look at. The highlights of this monitor are as follows. Specs:*7" Daylight Viewable 1080p Display *1000 cd/m² Brightness *1000:1 Contrast; 179° Viewing angle *HD-SDI and HDMI Inputs and Outputs *Dual L-Series and LP-E6 Battery Support

  9. Hi there, Finally I have had my ACL serviced by the best, Mr Bernie O'Doherty, and finally I can use it to shoot something serious. But to be serious, you need to have the complete set. And right now I am look for some accessories for the camera. First off is the top handle. I do know that Les Bosher sells one, but me and him do not seem eye to eye, so that is not an option. Second I am looking for is a new rubber cup for my viewfinder, the one I had just broke and I need something to replace it. if you know of any other accessories that might be necessary and you want to off-load, please reach out //C
  10. Hey everyone, I'm looking to rent an anamorphic viewfinder for my Moviecam Compact MKII. I've been asking around but can't seem to find one! I believe the Arricam viewfinder extensions work with the Compact MKII as well. If you have access to one or know where to rent one, I would love to know. Thanks!
  11. Hello folks :) , I recently bought a beautiful Beaulieu 4008 ZM II from the german camera museum. It´s in a great shape and was also tested by the seller, but now everytime i look in the viewfinder i see the lower half very milky and the upper half very dark, almost black. I have read in an other forum that its maybe a shutter problem , but I can open and close the shutter on the lens so thats strange.´But on the other hand i havent bought an external battery yet so i couldnt run the motor actually. And also When i look into the viewfinder theres a crooked stroke coming out of the right hand side, which also looks quite wrong for me. I´m quite a newbie in S8 cameras so any help would be SO great !!! Thank you in advance !!! Here some pictures of my beauty. ( I just removed the auto diaphragm on the lens) http://i.imgur.com/0I5tnr6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/V3EI3F9.jpg LeeHe

  14. Is it just the eyepiece itself? Something internal to the viewfinder? Jean-Louis? Dom?
  15. In this review of the Kamerar QV-1 LCD Viewfinder, the reviewer comments on the strong magnet holding the finder to the mounting bracket and demonstrating it by holding the DSLR downwards on the loupe only - LINK. I wonder, is that magnet somehow affecting the LCD screen? Temporarily or maybe over time causing some damage? Didn't some users of s35 adapters for video cameras (remember those? :) ) attach magnet on screen or the viewfinder to un-flip the image? Best Igor
  16. I have a Cinema Products CP-16r with fungus (or something?) on one of the internal elements of the viewfinder. It appears to be on the second element of the viewing (eye) side, as it does not change focus with the ground glass. Can anyone point me to a resource for proper disassembly? I have taken the thing apart but I CAN NOT seem to be able to remove the prizim covers, unless there is some secret after the two screws are removed. This is the one thing that does not seem to be covered in any of the available documentation. Before I spend money to replace it, I want to try to clean it! Thanks for any help you might have.

  20. Hi guys, Simple question, but, I have an Alan Gordon MkV directors viewfinder, which has the markings for standard 35mm - but the new MkVb seems to have changed this to super 35mm. Is there actually any difference in FOV between the two? I shoot primarily super 35mm sized digital sensors - in which case the sensor size differs slightly from camera to camera anyway, but it would be good to know if this is something I need to be taking into account. Many thanks! Harrie
  21. Hey film community,. First off thanks for all the previous threds; they have proven extremly helpful. I got a question concerning the viewfinder for a Bolex Rex-5. I really want to attach an angle finder like this one here. I'm wondering if there was ever one made for the Bolex or if there is any kind of attchment mount for the rex-5 viewfinder to attach (through a converter?) the one I linked to. Any thoughts on getting something like this for my camera? best, carl
  22. Used optically correct ANAMORPHIC VIEWFINDER for mounting on Optical viewfinder cameras like KONVAS 35mm motion Picture camera. Starting price is only $90 UN-squeezes image from anamorphic lens. Focusable for image of 35mm frame size from approx.3"-6" from end of front element. Eyepiece glass and front end clean WITH NO scratches or marks. Removable locking collar for connection to Konvas cameras. Tested and works fine on Camera ITEM is being sold inexpensively as only guaranteed to work with KONVAS style russian type viewfinders 'as is' A new collar could possibly be moved, removed or adapted to match other optical eyepiece cameras such as ARRI BL or others. Cannot guarantee fit but discussion from others have indicated that end shaft diameter would fit many other optical viewfinder prism or mirror mounts. With right mount it might also work with electronic viewfinders. being sold on ebay here http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1555.l2649 for any more info send email to info at alamofilms dawt com
