  1. Yes Dino De Laurentis did buy the Todd-35 lenses, so you can add "Conan" to the list .
  2. Also check out " Flash Gordon" and " Macbeth " both shot by Gil Taylor BSC.
  3. I agree it looks stunning Cinematography and Design are the best thing about the film .

I suppose my point was why remake very good films no matter how old they are ,over the last few years there have been so many remakes of great films that turn out so much worse than the original. If they have to do a remake pick a film that wasn't as good as it should have been and try and improve it ! For gods sake The Magnificent Seven is in production now !
  5. I have just watched my Blu-Ray copy of the 1959 Ben Hur shot in Camera 65 [ Ultra Panavision 70 ] Anyone out there can tell why me on earth a remake is at this time being made now in Rome ?
  6. Grain. Grain Grain ! Film has some grain that is good texture, not plastic Digital images what ever the camera look the same .

  8. I can not see anything wrong with these images !!! If you do ? just do a few tweaks in Post .
  9. Don't think so ! Film lives, Alpha Lab Mobile should in your part of the woods soon .
  10. Forget Digital projection the idea is to show it in selected Cinemas with 70mm projection . The DCP version will be cropped into what ever suits !

  14. I think you have got it wrong about this ! Talking to DoP and 2nd unit Dop last year [Oct last year near end of shoot] Lots of in camera Efx false perspectives, models etc..

  18. Slaughter House 5 is a great but weird film shot by Miroslav directed by George Roy Hill. I loved in 1972 but not sure if can been seen anywhere now ?
  19. Went to the launch of this on Thursday at Pinewood Studios very impressive, unprocessed neg in the front 4k scan out at the end.
  20. Yes of course getting my CinemaScope 55 film confused !
