  1. I have what you're looking for. Email me at: bolextech@gmail.com
  2. If you have the little elbow adapter, I believe you'd be much better off with an on-board battery pack.
  3. If you're going for NiMH cells, I'd recommend the low self-discharge type like Eneloops.
  4. Had a problem similar to this a while back. Camera would start up and stop for no reason. The user was using an inexpensive AC/DC power adapter. When run from a battery pack, camera would work fine. Found a more sophisticated regulated power supply for the camera and that seemed to have solved the problem. You said it also didn't run from batteries which it normally should have. Check for loose cable connections.
  5. I have a couple of lenses in Arri bayonet mount. Email me if interested. Jean-Louis bolextech@gmail.com
  6. If anything, they make things more confusing. Why tamper with a classic design? Jean-Louis
  7. From the 4008 user manual: Use of non-automatic lenses 1. Standard the 16 mm lenses "C" mount lenses Over and above the lenses especially designed for the Super 8 format, the 4008 ZM 2 camera will accept any object lens de- signed for 16-mm work (C mount: extension 17.52 mm (11/16"),- thread 25.4 mm (1") - max. thread length 3.8 mm (.15"). 2. Stili-camera lenses Most interchangeable 24X 36 miniature camera lenses can be fitted to the Beaulieu 4008 ZM 2 by means of intermediate adapter rings.
  8. The Beaulieu 4008 mount can accept a lens whose thread depth must not exceed 3.8mm. Anything deeper and the lens bottoms out against the black light baffle plate. Jean-Louis
  9. The camera has no on/off switch of it's own so one has to be included as part of the power supply. Jean-Louis
  10. A bunch of new manuals has been added to the apecity website http://www.apecity.com/ Jean-Louis
  11. Only two major manufacturers offered super8 cameras with C-mount: Beaulieu and Pathe. Most often, the lenses made especially for these were either Angenieux or Schneider. In my experience, in no case did the rear element housing extend more than 1mm into the flange. Considering that the required area for the meter could be less than the standard Aaton or Eclair mirrors, there should be ample flexibility in positioning the rotating mirror. Jean-Louis
  12. Use a grease pencil to fill in the marks then wipe off the excess.
  13. The problem is that someone forced the lever the wrong way and bent the light baffle plate inside. When the lever is down, the baffle must also be down. After removing the 4 screws, lift up the top of the viewfinder tube and you will see what I mean. The baffle plate is easily bent and also easy to bend back to it's proper position. Jean-Louis
  14. I have a few extra ones and a charger. A lot of other CP stuff also. PM me. Jean-Louis
  15. If you happen to be talking about the later version Vario-Switar 16-100mm, Parts are available from Bolex to convert the bayonet mount to a C-mount.
  16. The best lenses for a RX camera will be the Kern Switar lenses marked "H16RX". Full super-16 coverage is often judged subjectively by the user. Some lenses will give you an image in the four corners but those corners may be a little darker. This is acceptable to some and not to others. with hi-key images, the darkening will be more noticeable. The 10mm and 25mm give you this kind of coverage. Longer focal lengths, like 50mm, 75mm and up usually have plenty of coverage for super-16. The 18-86mm zoom and also the newer 12.5-100mm, will not cover at the wider end. The 16-100mm is in the subjective category; it almost covers fully. You can use photographic lenses like Nikon, but the focal lengths will give telephoto perspective on 16mm. Jean-Louis
  17. Marcos, email me and I will send you the information I have. Jean-Louis
  18. Typically, the motors draw 2.5A when running and may require a 4-5A surge on start-up. Make sure your battery has a capacity of at least 5Ah.
  19. The picture shown on the beaulieu.de site looks to me just like a regular cable release with a conical thread. I have a few of the original Beaulieu cable releases that are straight thread and extremely sturdy. Contact me off the board if you're interested.
  20. The chamfer on the lens mount looks excessive. You can correct that on the lens mount or make the correction on the M4/3 adapter. Either way, a little machining will be necessary.
  21. I found one that looks identical to the Kodak one. I'll PM you.
  22. Super-8 can do better than this. The jiggle is a little too much. Otherwise nice footage.
  23. I read somewhere that the rule of thumb is infinity is 600x the focal length. Ex: 50mm x 600 = 30000mm = 30 meters.
