  1. Cps have nearly 300 degree rotation. I was referring to the Duclos version. I didn't even know Tokina made one as well as I don't really pay attention to lenses like that too much. I tend to work with industry standard equipment usually. I would go with the CP if I were you.
  2. Cp2 as it is more of a proper Cine lens with proper witness marks. Tokina is just a rehoused stills lens without reliable witness marks and enough barrel rotation to pull focus on. I am not talking about its sharpness or its optical performance but just its ergonomics.
  3. Guys please, this guy is completely delusional, and is making stuff up for some unexplainable reason...
  4. I highly doubt that a project like that even exists let alone Tyler the magician 'fixed' exposure issues blah blah. What can I say? He is one delusional man. He is the man who has stories on whatever the topic is. Let's talk about motorcycles, I'm sure he would tell us he's a trained Harley technician or something. It's sad.
  5. I wish Tyler left this forum and left us in peace. Now he was the Sony repairman as well. Man, you are a joke, sorry to burst your bubble.
  6. On a payroll job, you're supposed to be paid within 2 weeks and on a w9 contract job within a a month. You could file with the labor board if they were to disregard those regulations. It would end up costing the company whole a lot more than just paying you your wages in a timely manner.
  7. I don't mean to pick on you. I do believe you mean well. You do try to be helpful to people, but, still don't agree with your way of verbalizing things sometimes, that's all. I apologize if I offended you in any way.
  8. Tyler, I'm not a fan of RED cameras myself for some reasons, but still don't agree with you. It seems like you like to go against the grain, which is getting pretty old. All of your statements regarding everything - not just this particular topic - is pretty annoying. No one seems to be up to your standards. You keep ragging on pretty established people, but yet, have nothing to show for yourself. Know-it-all attitude is wearing really thin, I mean incredibly thin. I still can't figure out what your expertise is, directing, cinematography, camera technician, editor, color timer... What is it? Do you ever hear yourself talk? One note, you label commercial cinematographers as fashion cinematographers or whatever you said. Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. I, personally, worked with Robert Elswitt and Van Hoytema that I can remember not too long ago. Are they just some 'fashion cinematographers' also? I don't know man... You should probably get a grip though, honestly.
  9. Good question indeed haha. I am pretty sure they are on the opposite side of the color wheel.
  10. To dig in even deeper, your post production expertise includes editing and color timing. Should I say one man band?
  11. Tyler, Did you say you have never shot charts before? Hmm...interesting. Coming from such a huge advocate for film acquisition. I can't keep up with your wide array of expertise ranging from a camera tech to cinematography to post production. I must say wow... I admire you I suppose. I wish I could say the same myself.
  12. Alexa and Mini are the same cameras except the Mini has a smaller form factor.
  13. There are some parts on Red and Alexa M but the rest is on 35 and 65 film I'm pretty sure.
  14. I just watched the movie. It is an Arabic film. It is a fantastic movie, a must see for sure. It reminded me of the Lawrence of Arabia in a way. Super 16 with Hawk 1.3x anamorphic lenses really shines in this film for sure. It is on Netflix. I would like to hear what you guys think of the movie. The photography in it is pretty riveting in my opinion.
  15. It should be fine as long as you keep the eyepiece covered to avoid possible light leaks.
  16. The feature I shot last year, I shot mostly on a Cooke 20-100 and an Optar 9.5 as my wide angle lens. It worked out perfect. Wide open, we didn't have softness or any other artifacts on the Cooke lens.
  17. I worked on a tequila commercial a few months back with anamorphic masters. We shot wide open with absolutely no barrel distortion or any other artifact. I was blown away by its sharpness and lack of 'character' wide open.
  18. I shoot s35. The front matte is removed, and have no issues with any aspect ratio.
